I see one used stainless wash up sink in your area listed on Facebook marketplace that’s not bad. The junk one I have is a life saver (I’ll switch it one day)

Looks like really good utilization of space under the stairs. I really like the overhead.
Does the table saw have any adjustments underneath to true the blade to the fence and square it to the top?

Ill keep on eye on a used sink. I always forget about FB Marketplace.

Table saw. Maybe. Ive looked a few times, but not seriously. It should. I should flip it over and look. But yea, the amount of times I have seized a piece of wood between the fence and blade... Scary stuff.

Tried to do this yesterday. Bought a 3ft instead of 4ft shelf piece... returned that today. Did other things... Anyways something simple, MORE SHELVES! Probably just use these for long term lightweight stuff.

Image

I also bought more lumbar...

And here is a bunch of that lumber I mentioned all cut up! I need to go buy some simpson ties. I dont do pocket holes for screws unless really needed. Tomorrow should be the endish of this project.

I managed to mostly finish my work bench yesterday. Still need to cut 1 more sheet for the lower shelf. I have no energy today.

Anyways, here it is

Upside down, you can see where I installed the simpson ties. Also, these are 4" casters, the brake locks the wheel from spinning and from the caster from spinning.
Image

And up! Need to remind myself to throw some more screws in from the 2x6s to the 4x4s...
Image

And the top on! This is whatever the cheapest real wood sheet is at home depot. I think its pine... This makes for a 3x6ft surface.

I like that a lot. The one I built years ago was sturdy enough to block up my old Goldwing on for a long term wheel project. Makes a nice layout table for engine and transmission rebuilds too. I keep a roll of plastic underneath that I use for a table cloth for greasy tasks.

^^^That’s a good idea.

I’m actually in the middle of building my workbench right now also. Since it’ll be a multi-use deal I plan on doing my casters like this so it can be rolled outside and I won’t have to think about damaging the wheels if I wail the shit out of something on it.

At my house, the driveway is anything but flat. So it wont be going outside here. But to the front of the garage? maybe. But that is a pretty nice idea for the casters, I was trying to think if I wanted to do anything else to mount the wheels... like take some 1/4" steel plate to screw onto the bottom, and threads to bolt the casters to. But nah, Ill deal with this.

Had some remnants of wood laying around here. Made a shelf. For now my cordless tools are sitting on it, but that is temporary.

I really need to run electricity in the garage too. And too bad it's on a 15A breaker.

Check the wire gauge. If it’s 12ga you can safely put a 20a breaker in. 14ga maxes at 15a.

Knew I needed more space for things. Built a few more shelves.

First up I built a above the garage door shelf. This was annoying to build, as I could not find any studs above the garage door.

Image

And I just finished this one. Its 27" deep. The right side is for my garbage and recycling cans to go.

Finally starting some electrical fun. Swung by Home Depot and bought some stuff. Plan is to surface mount outlets. 2 gang at the bench. and 2 single gangs at each front corner of the garage.

Bunch of random bits, and not pictured is 70ft of straight conduit.

Image

If you noticed, that is only 50ft of wire... I think I need like 15 or 20ft more... but this will do for now.

And finished. And it works! Sadly garage is only wired for 15A.

But so happy to not have to use extension cords for everything.

Near the garage door on the right side.

Over my bench.

Near the garage on the left side.

And the ceiling. Tapped into the outlet for the garage door opener.

Still need to add a couple of U clamps to secure it a bit better, make it more flush to the walls. But I am happy!

I think this is gonna be a longish post...

So since October 2020 I have been depressed. Girlfriend leaving/moving out, living by myself, rainy season, not being as close to my friends, and lets throw in Covid lockdowns too. That all came to a head a couple of weeks ago. And well now I have some happy pills and holy shit its GO TIME!

Projects took a nose dive. Just no motivation. But I did get some things done...

Early October I made myself a head board, never had one before...
Image

Image

Christmas time I somehow got the motivation to put up some Christmas lights. Maybe it was because it looked incomplete without my lights, I do know my neighbor was shocked a single dude put up lights...
Image

Started this project in October and finished at some point in December or January... Wifi controlled RGB LEDs under the kitchen cabinets. Its quite nice as it eliminates shadows, and makes a nice night light.
Image

I built myself a new computer desk top. Made of 3 2x10s. Bad idea. Or find the straightest boards at the store and acclimate them a month inside before working... probably gonna redo this one...
Image

I had this idea when I first moved in, but the idea only got stronger as time went. Basically towels and socks like to fall behind the washer/dryer. And my cats liked to hideout back there... I made the gap between the units a little cabinet, uses special full overlay hinges. It got 3 layers of Polyurethane.
Image

And I finally got the garage computer up and running. Well it always worked, but not with the screen I wanted. I bought a desk mount adjustable mount for a monitor, because I couldnt find one to hang the monitor. Opened the arm up, removed the bracket for the gas strut and reinstalled it on the opposite side of the arm to make it force the other way. Works great other than limited up travel. Its a 27" monitor so I can see things from a bit further away.
Image

These last 2 things have been in the last 2 weeks. Look to the other threads for updates.

Nice man. I really like the headboard and the washer/dryer shelf thing.

Thanks! I did the headboard because the room was really bare feeling. Got the idea and it was done. Amazingly its not event attached to anything. The bed frame pinches it to the wall.

The shelf thing was surprisingly easy to make, just needed extra time for the poly to dry. Every time I walk into the laundry room I just like how clean it looks.

I scored 2 free (but very dirty) mac tool box drawers. Almost 30" wide. But most important, I discovered they were exactly 5.5" tall. Or the same as a 2x6, which happened to be what the front of my work bench was...

So I did a thing.

Image

I probably need to add a bit of reinforcement(probably gonna repurpose the 2x6 I removed. You can see the 1.5" angle steel I added, it definitely helped.

Also, because I am running our of room in the garage, I realized the answer is, CASTERS!

So I put casters on my shop press. These where cheap on Amazon with a supposed 600lb rating (I dont trust them), Ill see how long they last. But at least they are dual locking.

Nice!!

Hey a tip from the experienced, round off the corner of that angle iron if you plan on leaving it there. The skin on your hip will thank you.

Edit: looking at it again and it seems even with the table top. It may be ok for you.
