Ive given away all my four speeds.

Keep in mind that these are 720 4 speeds, one was out of a 1980 720 4X4.
What engine you have in your 720?

L20

Has a long tail dogleg IIRC. I know its dogleg for sure, though.

OK, I have lots of napZ cases, I sell them for scrap aluminum, as I have no napZ engines, but I keep the L block cases for my builds.
Is there something wrong with the dogleg?

EDIT
I just remembered you saying it was stuck in 3rd gear, I hate them crap transmissions, it the only tranny that I had to be flatbeded home because of.

The only 5 speed I have that I don't need is a pre 1980 from Australia, I know nothing about it, and it has a diesel front case on it, it came with that diesel engine I had imported for the fuel system.
The problem with them trannys is they are geared wrong for the 720 drive train, when behind a diesel engine, floored I am going maybe 55mph, while a 1980+ 720 trans. will be doing 70mph at the same rpms, so it just doesn't seem like a good way to go.
You need to get a 720 transmission, the doglegs are weak, to weak to be trying to push around a heavy 720, and they are expensive to work on also.

Yeah, this one did fine for many years. Finally gave out. I hardly hauled anything with it, and it went out while it is in someone else possession. I will try and find a 5 speed L series trans that doesn't cost a fortune. Ive seen 4 speeds for free many times so hoping to pick one of those up for free just to get me by for a little while.

For me its easier to pull the motor and trans together, then do some clean up while its out. In the engine bay, and on the motor.

I have a couple longshaft 4 speeds, you can use one for as long as you need it, but I have no idea how to get it to you, adam also said he might have one, you guys figure out what your going to do and let me know.
If you find a 5 speed with a napZ case on it, you can use the 4 speed case on the 5 speed.
I know nothing about either of these 4 speeds I have, one came on an engine with Dual SUs, and that is why I bought it, the other I I believe came from Mike Klotz, it had set in his back yard for I don't know how long, neither cost me anything.
I have these transmissions because of the L case, otherwise they would have been scrapped, I have a 3rd one without a case, I know it was good.

Let me know what you want to do.

I have a huge job Monday, it will take all day, I will not likely be home till dark.
I can dig one out and check the color of the fluid if there is any in either of them, and leave the best one outside in the driveway, that is the best I can do Monday, I have never even used either of them, now that I think about it, the one I got from Mike Klotz did have fluid, and it was the correct color as I recall, as when I put it in my truck, it drained some fluid out onto his driveway, but I don't actually know that it is good, I took it for the front L case, didn't care about the rest myself.

someone before me stuck that long tail dogleg in the truck. Worked fine for a long time before the pin came out.
