Lol. I'm sure most people swap them out and toss them.
Some sites list the same slave for all the datsuns, some list specific ones for the 510, vs everything else. also 240z vs everything else. But they all look the same mostly. some have threaded rods, all say 5/8th...

Um... the clutch slave used on the 240z is practically the same clutch slave used on all RWD Nissans until like 2000. Its the same as a S13.
I do know the napa one worked on my friends 240.

maybe the wrong master? but those looked the same too.
some research shows there is some variances. I'll ask where he got them from. Autozone only shows a rebuild kit so he may have got it from napa. IDK... IDK what the deal is, but no matter what I do it only moves a half inch. somethings not right, yo

The 510 master is 5/8" the slave is 3/4"
Truck slaves have the fittings on the end so the flex line clears the torsion bar.

Rock auto has a 11/16th bore slave. That would increase throw.
are you sure you adjusted the clutch fork right?

Yes, I adjust it so there wasn't but a little tiny slack. maybe an eighth inch so the throw out bearing wasn't constantly touching the pressure plate. The slave only moves a half inch. not enough to release the clutch. I have some room to adjust the fork more, but doing that will cause the throw out collar to be constantly hitting the pressure plate, pre-maturely wearing it out, no?

Yes it will wear out the TO bearing if it is always touching the clutch cover forks, it could last for a year, or it could seize inside a week.
That slave is the one I have seen on the 521, I have not used that type in years myself, although it should have the same throw as a 720 type if they are the same size bore.
I keep coming back the the clutch master adjustment, as it's not likely the slave, the only thing that can go wrong with the slave is either it seizes, or it leaks, the bigger the bore in the slave, the less it moves, the bigger the bore in the master, the more the slave will move, at least I believe that is how it works.

well the master doesn't say on the side i can read.
I've done all that i can. I can't get that fork to move more than a half an inch. It's at a stand still
Owner of it asked me what he should get but IDK for sure. He is heading into portland, i told him to stop by Bills datsun (yeah i know i know) but maybe he has a little insight on the Z bore sizes and has a known good set of stock master/slave for a 240z we can try out is my thinking.
