Lol. Sorry for talking your ear off at Canby (I'm the fat guy with the green 4dr B210 parked a couple cars over). I was just so excited to see such a well put together B210.

And thank you for the compliment on the car. I collected parts for this car for 8 ish years before starting the project. You've seen a pic of my first car, the BLUE B210?

Ya I've been around a while. Anyway that car was just as clean as my yellow one.

Spent the day over at Randy's helping pull a Z 5 speed and cutting up a 1200 shell (no title). Grabbed some sheetmetal for some rust repairs later.

Horrible shot of the coilovers, the strut inserts are just massive though, I forget exactly which brand I think Koni's.


Better shot of the side. Overall I think the car went through a few owners of varying ability given some of the repair work I've seen. I'm probably going to pop the shaved markers back out and run side markers.


Headliner is super cherry and it looks like the interior may have been redone at some point. Dash has one big crack but is otherwise not so bad. Little bit of funkiness around the windshield but pushing on it is seems to be some type of sealer and not rust?? Will probably end up pulling the windshield to be sure. The cowl seems to either have a thick layer of bad paint or bondo (WTF??) which has come off and been covered up by the silver paint so as not to rust. Felt solid though, and peeling stuff seems to be just respray.


The plan is to get it put back together then off non-op and running. Once I get the running gear sorted and reliable I'll probably strip the paint and get the bodywork squared away, or maybe I'll tear apart the B210 and get it painted, I haven't decided yet. I'm kinda tempted to just get it media blasted at this stage and primered but I really don't have the money to do that. I think some touchup of the miscolored patches to all one color and hitting the most obvious problems will get it looking presentable.

Because I have boxes and boxes of parts I might some day use, some for cars I don't own now but plan to someday.

Seats were reupholstered at some point, need to be cleaned but in pretty good shape.


Door cards are in pretty decent shape, and the headliner is perfect. All the rubber is pretty good also, doors close with a nice solid thunk.

Most of the parts are inside the car including some of the trim, the front bumper and alot of misc. stuff. Also came with a 1200 longblock and 4spd. I still need to pick up a flywheel, flywheel bolts, fuel pump, starter, water pump, etc.... to put it together but all the important bits are there.

Now time to put it together

Lighten that flywheel some!

I'm super stoked about, been having trouble sleeping actually just thinking about what I'm going to do with it.

I need to get a A12 flywheel, they are lighter and thinner than an A14 one also the flywheel bolts are SAE for the A12 .

Floors are welded in, I've got some primer on the areas now to keep it from rusting. I coated the underside with undercoating already. I also patched the drivers side too but it doesn't really show so no pics. I'll go back and grind/rough up everything down again and then probably por-15 it. I'm not really fond of por-15 but I can get it quickly and I don't really have any better ideas.

I still need to weld in one of the driver's side seat supports as it is missing . I'm just going to use some thick walled square tubing.


Short term goal is to get the floors solid and then start adding sound deadening and carpet. I'm tempted to fill the side rails with something while I have access although I'm not sure what. I need to find some seat belts also. I also went and hit a bunch of rust spots with rust converter while I was at it. God I fucking hate rust so much.

Also started populating the engine. The longblock is pretty stripped. I dug out a ok matchbox ignition, but I need to modify the mounting plate. Engine still has oil. I'll pop the valve cover and look around later, but looking through the oil cap hole it looked decent.


Interestingly the hole for the exhaust was already welded up. Although I do have an intake that matches for it.



I'm still making a list of parts I need and things to do.

Thanks! I would have had them all ground and cleaned tonight, but the wife came out and told me I should stop grinding as it was already midnight and I was going to piss off the neighbors with the noise.

Hahaha, yeah suburban life conflicts with progress some times lol.
But so does rural life.

Butyl sound deadner came in today, but I only got back from Eagle Rock a couple of hours ago. Got a little bit done with a little bit left from an old roll of tite seal I had before I left on Friday.

Ended up using peel n seal to do the whole interior up to the firewall and under the dash. Also pulled the rear panels and did the sheetmetal and stuffed in a bunch of closed cell foam.

In this picture the black is a neoprene rubber I've glued over the wrap. I also did the back tirewell and then ended up spraying it all with the rusty metal primer.

I put two layers of closed cell foam down (the green and blue stuff) sealed it with aluminum tape and then glued down neoprene over it. All the foam and rubber was surplus I picked up.

Done, I still need to cutout some of the holes for the shifter and some misc. stuff. You can also see the driver's side rear seat brace I welded in (top of pic).


I also started working on the template I'll use to cut out some fiber board for the rear area.


I still want to cover everything with a jute pad and then carpet. I'm just trying to decide if I go with the pre-molded stuff or go cheap and do the indoor-outdoor charcoal gray carpet (~20$ from Lowes).

When your chooseing carpet, I think next time im going to take a pocket full of pine needles with me, so you can make sure it doesnt suck em in and not let go my carpet holds them things in

Thanks. The goal I'm going for this one is quiet inside

I ended up picking up some 1/4 (or 3/16 I forget) plywood today just because I have broken my old rear board exactly that way before. I'll probably add some metal straps for strength too. Didn't get any Datto time today unfortunately to work on it though, also this is the end of my vacation time so going back to my normal 60-80 work week tomorrow with several booked weekends coming up so probably not a lot will get done soon.

I still need to get the flywheel, flywheel bolts, and driveline. Everything else I can either make, get new, or get from other cars. The block I have is super stripped so I really should just see if I can pick up a blown-up A12 somewhere in Norcal to strip parts off of.
