Re: The rusty panda
Thanks guys lol Jacob first pointed out I had space for a battery there. Turns out a long bed is the only one the relocation will work in that location.
Izzo: yep I used an angle grinder and cutoff wheel for all my cuts. I wish I had a band saw and chop saw lol band saw will have to wait till I have a better work space tho. I still need to get a bottle for my welder but I'm getting better at flux core. That welder is the best investment I've made so far

Re: The rusty panda
with some practice you can do just fine with no bottle.
If you have a spare few bucks and a little time, I think for 40 bucks a credit, you can take a local class and have the teachers teach you wire feed with flux... I'd invest two credits worth and get some under your belt. A little welding skills won't hurt and will go further than you'd expect, even outside the car hobby.

Re: The rusty panda
Maybe eventually, I dunno when my work schedule will change so I can't commit to classes right now. I took a couple welding classes a few years ago, just not allot of mig. I still am welding on a 15 amp socket tho... Which means I can only use settin 3 of 6. This house doesn't seem to have a single 20 amp. The whole stinking garage only has 2 outlets

Re: The rusty panda
I see.
I have a 110 lincoln wire feed welder. It will do up to qaurter inch, way more then I'll ever need for auto, or home use.. or even building shit! haha. I run mine off a regular plug in on my house. hell my fuses are the round screw in types... Burns right along

Re: The rusty panda
Haha the one time I turned it up past three I immediately blew the breaker. 20 amp is still a normal outlet, 15 is a typical bedroom outlet tho. Usually garages and appliances have 20 amp sockets tho. For some reason they didn't put many 20 amp ones in my house... Might have to run a cord from the kitchen and that would take 150' of cord haha

Re: The rusty panda
Well on Saturday one of my rear tires decided to blow out... So I got some new tires! My old ones were 195's and I wanted to go wider so I ended up with some 215's. They fill out the wheel wells better and I like the look. They filled it out soo well I rolled the fenders a bit with a bat to help them fit better haha

Re: The rusty panda
So I finally got a power washer and did the under coat. Jacked up one side of the truck with a high lift jack and went to town. There was only one area with rust on the surface so I removed it and primed the bare metal then under Oates the truck. I brought the under oat all the way up to the engine bay for a nicer look.
All jacked up
One area needed help
Looks better

Re: The rusty panda
was gonna have the truck in primer this weekend... but i'm currently couch ridden. i bought an awesome 3 wheeler to ride around the farm and immediately ran my foot over and ground graven into my ankle. Cleaned the heck out of it and keeping the bandage changed. My goal is to go to work monday. On the up side, my new 3 wheeler fits in the long bed with the tool box still in and the tailgate closed. Oh and it's a Honda 250r beast that hauls major ass

Re: The rusty panda
Sounds like I might have to check out St. Helens. Haha only real trail riding I've done was at grassy flats. I'm not 100% sure how mine will do on trails since it's a 2 stroke

Re: The crusty panda
Good idea, never thought of that. I need to tune my carb a bit too and pick up some more riding gear. Right now all I have is riding pants, questionable riding boots, and a street bike helmet.
On a side note, I just realized the name of my thread changed from rusty panda to crusty panda.... I didn't do that haha
