Alright all, I'm back! What I've done so far is negligible. I have removed all of the nasty front carpet, the steering column cover, both speakers (they are infinity's, dunno if they work), the rear vents to clean up and repaint black since the chroming is very bad. I polished the shift knob on valentines day, and yes I do see the irony of me polishing my knob for a good deal of time on valentines day. I knew I had troubles with my blinker switch, but didn't know how bad it was. After taking off the cover, the handle just fell off. The metal that held it in just broke. Poor thing. So I'm going to need to get a new steering wheel column blinker and brights set up. I'd like to wire my lights and hi beams to a toggle switch, but I'm not sure how to do that as of yet. My windshield wipers don't work, and neither do my emergency flashers. When removing the carpet, I discovered the bang up job a P/O did when installing the 5 speed. There's just a random jagged square piece of metal screwed on to protect from the elements. LOL. Terrible. So I'm going to need to buy a welder and learn how to do that so I can get that part all cleaned up and functioning correctly.
The first thing I'm going to do to my car once I get the title is drive it. A lot. I'll be spending my money on rebuilding my l18 block. I have no idea where to start. I know it has recently been remachined, and has a matching timing cover. That's all it has. I want it to be balanced and super smooth with high compression. When my l16 is cold and idling, it shakes the whole darn car.
So I know I'm going to need a cam shaft, don't know what lobes to run. I need a crankshaft, but don't know what to look for. Pistons, rings, injectors, rods, timing belt, all the peripherals, I need it. I want it to be bulletproof and fast. What do I need to do to get that? I am at your mercy...
