I had to take out the fuel tank on this truck, it was rusty(had 6 screws holding holes/leaks in tank), this happened because the tank hit the ground and bent it stretching the metal and holes appeared, it also bent it up in a couple places, but the straw that broke the camel's back was the sender quit working.
I cleaned up a tank I had welded a new top on, sealed it with a tank sealer, and checked the sender and it appeared to work fine even though it did not work properly in the tank it was in, so I used it in this tank with no regrets so far.
