Still got a bit to go.. Waiting on the new face plate kit to get here so I can make sure it will fit the shower valve. Once I get that, I'll finish up the cement board. After that, I'll put in the cement shower pan.

I've lived in this house for about 4 years now.. and the shower broke within the few few months..

We are starting to look for a new place now.. so I figure by the time this is done, I'll have the house sold.. lol

Ive always called that stuff wonderboard. My dad was a tile setter by trade, so that was pretty common stuff for him to be using.

Progress is progress. This spring I will be rebuilding lots of the fence here. Fun stuff. Nothing like selling something to make sure its all functional.

I'm in that mode myself. Seems like houses/cars never look as good as the day you sell them.

At least you're getting something done. Just finished with all the stuff the buyers wanted done on the house I'm selling. It's fairly aggravating when you fix something up for someone else to enjoy.

I found that if I fix it up for myself that it will have to be fixed up again if I were to sell, that is likely why I will never totally refinish my hardwood floors I put in except for a few spots, they are good enough for me the way they are.

Did a little more work on the bathroom.. got all the cement board up and tapped and mudded. Then poured the shower pan.. I'll probably seal it up next weekend. Then on to tile.

Eventually I'll be re-doing the shower in the master bath of the new house we just bought. Not looking forward to it at all. I may go the lazy route and put a plastic or fiberglass bottom and tile the walls and ceiling. I will also probably put a shelf about 2 feet from the floor. I'm way too fat to be holding my leg up in the shower to wash my feet.

I would have totally went with a pre-fab shower pan, but this is a custom sized shower. It was originally designed to fit a stacked washer and drier.. so it's tiny!

Ahh, makes sense.

I'm sure you have already been told or read somewhere but I would feel like shit if I didn't tell you that you have to caulk the joints and waterproof everything before you put tile up.

I'd rather tell you something you already know than for you to have to redo it because I didn't.

Yeah, going with Laticrete Hydro barrier with the required mesh for the corners. Two coats :)

I'll take any tips, cause it just takes one good one to not fuck it up. lol

Out about 4 coats on it. This was after the first or second coat I think. Much darker now.

Your seeing were the sealer cuts off and the thinset meets the drywall ceiling. I was planning on just leaving it drywall up there like before.

Good deal. Is it green drywall? Or do you have a vent in there? If it is regular drywall, over time the moisture will rot it out. Not to mention mold before it gets to that.

I promise I'm not trying to act like you don't know what you're doing, I just wouldn't feel right if I didn't ask and something got overlooked.
