Nothing wrong with that.

To touch on what Draker said about the leak down testing...
Piston is at TDC. Air goes in. Blah, blah, blah.
If air would be leaking it will go up, down, or out.
Down-you need rings. Up-valve seats or seals. Out-HG.

I doubt you will need a rebuild though. KAs are damn tough.

You do not even need a leak down tester. The air hose from your compression tester will be fine.
You don't need the gauges-just the knowledge that you do or don't have to do A, B, or C.

On the minimum I would put new chains, tensioners, and guides on there. KAs love to eat chain guides.

already have a timing kit ;)

but ive read quite a few times that Nissan guides are the way to go if you going to run em.

Ive also seen there some say to remove a certain guide as its "not needed" and "just ends up in the oil pan" which is an interesting concepts but also scares me to death

You're right gauges aren't a requirement. Good tip on the compression tester hose. Gauges come in handy when you want to tell how big the leak is.. or the health of the cylinder in relation to the others.

I've heard the same thing although I don't remember where. I haven't had the balls to try it yet.

I like leak down testing for diagnosis much more than a compression test.

The only thing I use compression testing for is oil consumption tests.
Other than that, I feel it's an outdated method.

There's always something about every car I've ever had that pisses me off.....

ALWAYS!!!!

In the 620, it's the glove box made from fucking cardboard....

So I set out to fix that!

Introducing a new metal glovebox insert for all 620's!!!

Image

Once I have the first one in and working they will be FS :)

This will also provide a sweet place to mount the custom control box being made for my engine swap :)

Could also make a custom panel to go in there... so they could mount a head unit in there
