Seems to be running alright, I could not tell much, would have to be there to know for sure.
Thanks! yeah I assumed most people would have to be here. it's always different in person.
flatcat19 wrote:I'm going to LOL if your drive test instructor says your car feels like the timing is retarded and asks if you own a timing light.
I'm not taking it in my car because I don't have insurance for it yet.
Using an old camry. haha

Dude. Your doing great! Keep it up and good luck with the license test. No real pressure man, it will happen. I failed my first one. Lots of people do. Dont take it to hard if you hit some crazy questions that dont seem like they have anything to.do with driving.
Thanks man!
That's really helpful.
I'll be alright.
I know what to do now.
Are my return lines okay? I'm afraid they're too close to something hot and IF gas leaks out through em...

Well, there ran behind the motor.... open fuel line are a no no any place on a car.
So im going to.assume you plan on finish routing that one line.
So the only thing ill say is, fuel can get too hot in the fuel line and evaporate. Wich blocks the fuel all together (the fuel pump wont pump vapors) and the line look to be ran in the hottest part of the engine bay, air doest circulate as well there, so it may be a problem on warmer days. The stock line run across the front of the motorto the passenger side, to stay cooler, and the charcoal canister lines hug the driverside frame rail as far from the motor as they could keep them.

If those are the su float bowl vents (overflow) then forget what I said. Those should never dump fuel if the floats are set correctly, most people just leave the metal tubes pointing down. And are fine.

If you still have a charcoal filter in the bay, you can run those 2 hoses into one hose, and then plug it it to the evap canister. That would look clean, and be safe.

what is a charcoal filter? a basic fuel filter?
I was thinking of that.
Buyign a t for gas lines and just connecting them to one so it looks much better.
maybe in a week or two when I get money. I'm beyond broke.

Ill get a pic, its not a fuel filter, its a black cylindrical canister mounted in the engine bay, like a big soup can, with fuel line going to it.
Might not still have one, as many people remove them.

so since I failed my behind the wheel test by one or 2 points, I'll have more time to get more of the car done.
I plan to get the radio fixed after when I purchase a new radio on black Friday.
I also need a battery tray to hold my battery down.
Then I have to screw in a couple things such as my kicker panels and tachometer.

Just be the most boring driver you can be next time.
Right lane. Turn signals. Seat belts. Speed limit.
Wait, wait, wait.
Be so studious on the drive the inspector starts falling asleep.
They'll dock you for the lamest shit.

My drive test was on a 105* day.
Normal to you-but not in Portland.
Instructor had me hit the freeway with all the windows down for 5 miles, exit, enter freeway back to DMV.
Pass. Win.

I had my farm licence for 3 years, drove huge 2 ton trucks thru the orchards.
My first drive test for my real licence was in a mercury sable, late 80s. Never had driven an automatic before.
Failing because: turning onto a one way street, headed east, wich was a left, I didnt turn into the closest legal lane. Never had seen a one way street before, and it seemee so unnatural I didnt believe the sighn and got nervous. The pulling into the dmv, I stuffed the brake peddle like a clutch peddle having never drivin an auto before.
They made me wait a month to retake the test. wich really sucked because I drove to the powell dmv In portland all the way from Mosier oregon 60 miles either way. Dropping off my ants car and driving the 2ton truck back up the gorge.
The second time I was much more motivated to pass.

Why didn't you just take the test in the truck?
Seems like a no-brainer.

did a little work on the dime and put in my new battery tray.
Holds down pretty well!
The car has come a ton since I first bought it around a year ago.
I also timed it a bit more VERY little but it does sound better although i feel like the intake is a but much.
I might get a video of it soon.
my dad is leaving town but hasnt told me when. so if he leaves before my test, I'll move his z and go on a joy ride of stalls. haha.
Well car is done for plans for about a year.
Thanks for the help guys!
but once again, projects never really end.
