Re: The rusty panda
Haha good point, but after all the work and mods I've done I don't have allot of road noise. Biggest thing I hear is intake and exhaust
I think all the por15 on the floors really helps quiet it down

Oh also, remember, studded tires decrease traction in the dry or wet. Only increase on ice.... Look for studless traction tires.

Re: The rusty panda
Good point, my main concern is the road I live on is really curvy and 45mph. Just not a great combo when it's 19 degrees on my drive to work lol

Re: The rusty panda
But is it 19 and wet or 19 and dry.
I personally will NEVER buy studded tires, for multiple reasons. The most important being, they almost never give better traction than a studless traction tire. Also, dont think because you have studded tires you automatically get better grip. Just drive defensively/slow.

Re: The rusty panda
I had studs for my celica, I could tell the difference in grip. They were heavy tho so I rarely used them. And defensively slow works in a car but this truck would rather be backwards lol my old Toyota started spinning circles down the road at barely 5mph. With most cars I wouldn't care as much but I wanna keep this truck out of the ditch

Re: The rusty panda
Well today I did allot of little things on the truck... My sterio went into security mode because a speaker wire got unplugged so I tore it apart and found the problem. Then I just kept going lol I permanently installed my vynle floors, then I fixed my clutch pin age that came apart, then I adjusted the latches on the doors so they would shut tighter. And then I really got carried away and fabricated a bracket and mounted the pull for my 240z choke cables, then shortened the cables to perfectly fit my su's. I did all this in the dark in 23 degree weather lol soo worth it
A snow pic for fun

Mostly finished interior
Choke pull mounted
Shortened cables

Re: The rusty panda
Thanks dude, I actually wasn't sure what I thought of the mirrors till I painted the fenders. I'm glad I decided to use them tho, goes soo perfectly with my build lol
I feel your pain lol I almost got frost bite scraping my windows at 530am the other day haha
I picked up some stud less snow tires last night so I'm gonna mount them on some stock rusty steelies and rock them haha

Re: The rusty panda
So I'm back kinda, yet another new gf. This one drives the Datsun and works on trucks, basically my dream girl. So the truck has been getting more attention. I blew my old motor... Ate a rod bearing. So I called around and made some magic happen. Me and Jacob ended up swapping Jacobs L19 in last weekend! It rips pretty good, I'll figure out how to post pics soon.

Re: The rusty panda
Figured I'd add a link to my old Datsun thread so I can find it easy. I don't have this truck anymore tho
