My car must be an anomaly... Just keep pressing the gas pedal while cranking. My car would start in January first revolution by timing the gas pedal to where in the revolution the crank was. Then it was just a matter of keeping it running for about 30 seconds.

No, I don't need a choke.
I ran my single weber with no choke and the dual carbs start just fine with no choke as well.
The car wasn't starting because the carbs had too much gas and not enough air.
I was trying to fix a part of the linkage so the gas was always being pressed.

I took a few pics today.

I'm wondering if anyone knows why my 510 lags?
I press gas and the car doesnt really move until a real good 5 seconds or so.

And my pedal gets stuck but I added a return spring to deal with that issue.

I am idling too low so I'm gonna go to a guy named Bob Higgins down in Socal and see what he can do for me.
Since I plan to daily my 510 after realizing that i love this car so damn much, I want it to be exact.

the back sits higher a bit and i loveee the look.

Su's aren't tuned right.. let it warm up for 5-10 minutes before you tear ass. thats what happens when you have no choke. PS, weber isn't SU, SU isn't weber. just cause you ran a weber with no carb doesn't mean squat about SU's.

Tho, if tuned right you don't need a choke :| I've always seen people use chokes on SU's. even if just a little bit.

Tune those carbs out right man. I posted a link to a uni-syn

These are not your Weber.

Allowing more air in is what the choke is for.

I did let them warm up for the times that it did start.

I'm going to get the tool and see what I can do but I'm also going to the shop for the other problems so I'd rather him do it professionally.

I really don't think I need a choke.
The car could have not started for multiple reasons.
I hadn't started the car for awhile before that so that's a variable but I'm not one to be exact.

Why are you taking it to a shop?
How are you ever going to learn to do work?

For the money you spend at a shop you can buy your own tools and have the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

Well the guy knows a friend and he said he showed him a bunch of 510 stuff because he had a few.

I was gonna ask him to teach me to properly do it and I also have the other problem I have not looked into yet.

When i press gas, 4-5 second lag..

Also...not many people have a UniSync tool. It's kind of an old-school thing.

If I'm doing it myself, I'd rather have a tool to help.
I'm a noob so I'd rather get it right and not fuck up.

I dont use a choke. I can full throttle my car cold. I always had to choke my weber.

Tools to sync the carbs are a must. You will never get it right without it.
