It doesn't look that good anymore.. had a hard life with the current owner. You did a lot of good work on this truck.

Yea I've heard a thing or two about its current state, I had a chance to get it back after he traded it for something briefly. But after hearing the condition... i had to pass.

It's tough to see an ex. Once they're sold I prefer to never see them again. I ran into my '64 Rambler and my '36 Chevy years later and both had been ruined.
I'm not really a big 620 fan but always really liked yours. It had a lot of cool touches.

Funny seeing the piston gear shift. I have one from an air compressor sitting on top of my toolbox awaiting the time for installation into my 510.

Lol mine was actually never a real piston, I machined it. I was the manual machinist for the shop at my old job so I made it from scratch

what year is your EX 620, my guess it's a 78 by the door panels.

It was a 79 with a 74 cab, but maintained the 79 title. The 79 had a rusty cab and the 74 had a wrecked bed. It originally had an L20b that I put a w58 peanut head and 1800 sus on. Then it got 5 speed swapped and lowered with torsion bars up front and 720 4x4 springs in the rear. Then it got jacobs L19 and 1600 sus from his 510.
I saw it at blue lake and Tom showed me some of the stuff he’s done. It’s more ratty than I had it and running an L16. But he did find nd a new rust free long bed for it. He also appreciated and kept allot of my custom work intact. It’s not how Put the truck together, but it makes him happy and at least it’s still driving.

Always a little sad to see them after they've been sold.

He blew up the L19. Didnt run Chevron Premium only (76 worked too), nor dialed back the timing.
Seriously, that motor would only run on Chevron or 76 premium. Everything else it would ping on (fuck Shell).
Its a shame, because those pistons were rare. I bought 4 of the last 5 ITM had in their inventory. Couldnt find from any other vendor.

Some people just can't have nice things.
