I don't think Skib would give 2 shits about the smog. Try it.
I think the plan is to get back to the NW.

I told you the coupes were bad ass.
They also have a more rigid body. Less flex when driving.
That white notch I posted a while back is for sale.
KA-E. Rota RBs. A bit far away for you though.

Anyone know why throttles stick?
I'm having trouble.
II have 2 return springs yet the pedal sticks...
I'm going to ericwaslike's shop on sunday to get my carbs properly done for a good deal.
I'm also hoping he can help me out with a few problems so we'll see.

Try taking all the springs off, and then slowly cycling the throttle linkage to figure out what's binding/catching.
Maybe it just needs lubricant in all the parts.

suggested that, he tried that. said with the throttle cable off its fine. I told him its probably the cable itself, and to slide it in and out to see if its dragging or catching. maybe its the angle of it.
Check into getting a Lokar cable if you replace it. they are nice.

I don't believe he has a cable, he has that 510 twisty setup.

ahhh. yeah double check the rubber grommets, and the plastic balls. they get old and can bind up if you don't have all the pieces. i had one rubber piece crumble on mine once and dicked it all up.

and you're right, it's twisty but i found one small sport. i did lubricate it with some wd40 and yet it has failed me.
I think something is up with the tierod that attaches to the pedal. It feels extremely wobbly. I think they're suppose two be pins on it to keep it down so it doesnt move but i lost one. (the only one it had) i snatched the thing off and it flew... didnt notice it when it was on.

WD40 on those hard plastic grommets is a no no.
WD40 will eat through old plastic. Not instant-but still.
Dielectric grease/silicone grease is better.
Sil-Glide from Napa is legit!
Do you have the twisty motion linkage or an actual cable?

I suggest sil glide too. It is the shit. Micro turned me on to that a few years back. its amazing.
Works dope as fuck on rear main seals, too.

My favorite is white lithium grease. Works wonders in locks too. My dead bolt on my house is the easiest to turn lock ever with the key, been over a year since I did that. Silicone seems to go away after awhile.

I think my dad has the white grease. I've seen him use it on his z.
I'll get sil glide tomorrow when i get a new speedo cable hopefully. thanks.

turns out my neighbor can tune carbs and he did what he could but it ran extremely smooth but when we turn it off, it shakes.
he turns it off in gear or so he calls it and it turns off fine.
anyone know what that means?

That's called dieseling datmo, mine has been doing it for over 15 years, learn to put it in first gear, turn the key off and let out the clutch at the same time, I have been doing it that way for so long that I don't even notice doing it anymore.

I drove Kevin's 521(L20Bw/flattops and SUs) the other day.
When we got to where we were going I turned it off how Wayno did.
Kevin was surprised I killed it without dieseling.
I paid it no mind that I turn it off this way. Just kind of a way of life with the Datsun, I guess.
And it has been too long since I have even driven one. Just a habit now, really.
