Blue Lake... Seems like lots skipped... I didnt even realize it was happening.

That looks like a lot of fun. But I think I would kill myself if I was on 2 wheels with power.

Spur of the moment decision.

I was a bit concerned about that myself. I had riding boots, gloves, goggles and a helmet but felt pretty vulnerable compared to all the regular riders that were in full gear.

Haha right, I am a lot more brave when I have my gear on man. Chest protectors, kneed pads, elbow pads, helmet, goggles, boots, and of course ballin ass riding suite.

Thought I had a serious problem with the old Goldwing. I was on my way back from lunch and ran it really hard for a stretch fillowed by some hard braking and even more hard riding before parking it. After work I jumped on it and as I rolled out the parking lot I could hear a clanking noise. Fuck. I limped it home and set it up on the center stand to see if I could pin it down. Seemed to be coming from the transmission area. My suspicion was that one of the main bearings was coming apart. It just sounded so much like a roller bearing that was falling apart and stacking up the balls. I got pissed and just walked away. A few days later I decided to verify. What did I find? The brake pads were rattling. I think a combination of hard braking, dust, and humidity was causing the pads to rattle. Then the rattle transmitted through the final drive, up the drive shaft, and was making the most noise in the transmission. I never, EVER would have thought that pad rattle would sound that dramatic. I honestly thought it was transmission failure. Pulled the rear caliper off, greased the back of the pads and the slide pins -- all better.
Sometimes I love being wrong.

All cleaned inside and out, pressure washed, painted, 2/3 pairs of rotors turned (I'm leaving one pair as-is), dust shields straightened, some axle seals replaced, rear covers repaired (they punch holes in them to drain the fluid). Just need to hang the brakes and place the ad.

It's probably getting one more coat. The guy doing the work is shooting for a decent driver quality level final product. It's being done in single stage at my dad's request (not really sure why). Supposed to be ready to come home tomorrow but it's already a week and a half late so we'll see when it's actually gets done. All the small parts have been cleaned up and he's ordered some new door handles and hood ornaments, etc. My brother and his kids are over there for the week so maybe they'll get in on some of the reassembly.

Side note; That '36 was initially purchased as a likely flip that would be a fun project for our retired dad. Well, as it often happens, he's ended up doing waaay more work than he ever intended but all improvement/repairs/changes have been done as if he were to keep it. He's done a bunch of work in the last 6 months and is nearing the end of what he will be doing. The goal is to have all 3 (my '35, brother's black '36, and dad's blue '36) lined up on Main Street in Pendleton next year. Possibly my uncle's '35 (bought by my grandpa in the mid '50s) also. There's a TON of work to do on mine if that's gonna happen. Watch for that product to ramp up soon.

Jess, for some reason when I saw the paint pic my first thought was that your truck was actually getting painted.

That would be really cool to see all three lined up in Pendleton.

Geez, I wish. Almost NO body work has been done so far. The new bed should be here next week though.
Thinking about having my brother do the body work and then have another guy actually paint it. Maybe if my brother doesn't feel like he has to do allll the work he'll get a little more motivation.

Package 1 of 2 showed up already. Front panel, 4 stake pockets and the rear cross piece under the tailgate. Next package should have the 2 bed sides and a tailgate.
