So this thing is still running like a turd.. not sure what's up. It's missing like a mofo and running rough. It started pretty easy with some help from the gas pedal but it took some cranking still.
It's running around 18Hg vacuum.. a little low. The timing might be spot on though hard to run a poorly running engine.
Here is a video. Clicky clicky

Looks like you still have points. Just for shits and giggles, and because you can only check the gap on new points, get new points, stupid dwell. I say that because you still have a ballast resistor... So as long as the timing is right, say something reasonable like 10btd. Next have you made sure all fuel filters are clean, including the ones in the float bowl cover. Next, double check your float levels. And finally, make sure your carbs are actually synced.
One time I changed my fuel filter in the parking lot of Napa. I started the car. It idled 15 minutes before any fuel made it back up to the fuel filter; in other words, it idled for 15 minutes with just the fuel from the bowls.

It's actually a matchbox and the resister is bypassed with a wire on the backside. But it looks like the actual matchbox may have been replaced with an aftermarket one on this dizzy at some point. It is not labeled and has no Nissan badging anywhere? I have confirmed the spark is nice and blue and plugs are gapped.
Fuel filters, I've got two inline filters and the SU filters. I have a glass filter at the tank to prevent the lines from getting plugged and I have the stock filter in the engine bay. I pulled one of the float bowl covers to see what's doin with the float. Still has the brass float. It was in good shape. I didn't set the float level or clean the filters though. I didn't know at the time the filters existed at the time. The carbs are sync'd. I checked them right before I took this video.
Also, this car has no muffler.. gotta get that on there because loud.. and back pressure.
Thanks for the feedback I'll dig in a bit more.

I'll check the wires. I'm almost positive it's right. You can remove the balast resister if you want. a jumper across the terminals do the same thing. I might remove it entirely.

Pulled the gas tank.. it was a complete clusterfuck of sludge and debris. I tossed a handfull of nuts and bolts and shook the shit out of it. Let it dry.. installed.
Modified the new fuel filler neck I installed. I pulled it out and modified the neck so that the angle is more slanted down towards the tank. Welded it back up. We'll see how good or bad it works when I get gas. It might work better if I remove the little metal flapper.
Anyway, I fired it up again tonight. Still runs like turds. I just hope I don't have to push it home again because of shit in the tank. Time will tell.

It's been over 5 months... upholstery shop still hasn't finished the seat skins. Blasted right past every deadline I gave him. Nice guy, but not a way to do business. He doesn't have a shortage of work.. so my small job is no skin off his back. But.. it's just that. A small easy job.

I've called a bunch.. I've gave him several deadlines. Most of the time I get his voicemail.
I emailed him just now.
It sucks cause I got a pretty good referral to him. He's a good guy.. not sure what's up.

No reply from email.. called and left voice mail letting him know I sent and email that says something along the lines of.. I need the seat covers back. If you can do them.. great. If not I need to take them somewhere else. Love your work, but can't wait any longer.
Still waiting...

I can almost guarantee nothing has happened.. He's just busy working on full cars that pay $1000's rather than a tiny job that pays nothing. Sad thing is.. it would only take him about 2-3 hours.

It's tough to get over there with my and his work schedule being the same. But yes.. I will probably just have to go over there.

Some of you may have seen this hood before.. I thought it was a goner since it was outside when initially got it. Condensation caused more surface rust... so inside my garage it sat for 2 years or so.. until now.
Before:
Did a bit of work today. Initially planning on getting it down to bare metal.. prime and paint. I stripped it with some paint stripper then it the whole thing with 80 grit. After that hit it with some rust dissolver. Here is a side by side:
After:
Plans have changed.. I will probably finish stripping the paint. strip backside and paint... then lots of clear coat on the top.
For now, I just rubbed it down with WD-40.
not sure what car it will go on at this point.. we'll see.
