Gotta fix that bumper...

Today I noticed the seam sealer on my roof was pretty beat up and because of it a little rain was getting in the cab... So I pulled her in the garage to dry her off and fix the seams. I took off the old sealer.. Witch came off by braking like chalk..

I didn't snap any pictures of doing this.. I sanded every where there was the old sealer .. I wasn't to sure what I should use to seal it back up so I used some caulk.. Roofing/flashing outdoor caulk.. Not cock..

What should I have used? This should work fine right?

I worked the caulk in the seams ttight like.

Thanks izzo, she's coming along nicely.
Think I'll be painting the roof a color, probably white but maybe not.

Caulk :( Seam sealer ftw. Caulking doesn't hold up to sun too well. UV kills it, even if it gets painted over, heat will kill it.

I had a 63 f100. drip rails fucked on it. i pulled the seam sealer out in pieces... few inches long at a time.

Go to the Baxter's on Columbia Dr.
They have tons of body supplies.
They'll have the seam sealer you want.

White topped 521s look good. You should do it.
...after you replace the bathtub sealer with some proper automotive seam sealer.

I made sure not to get indoor caulk... It was outdoor steal flashing water sealer.
But I'll take your guys word. I'll go get the right shit.

Thanks guys

The seam sealer on the roof before came off super easy... about a foot of it came off at a time... I don't know if it was seam sealer but I didn't think it helped keep the ran out. When I took it all off there was noticeable rust starting to form in some areas.
I know I didn't want to use that shit again. Or maybe I did an however thought they could fix it did a shit job...

Any who. I'll take pictures next time. Maybe new color roof..

Sems seams sealer ftw. Acrylic or silicone caulk will also harbor mildew and mold behind it giving you gangreen of the blowhole. Fuck roofing caulk doesn't work if applied when cold or damp. Ask me how I know.

Truck looks good.

When you fix the bumper, put matching side marker lights on too.

Good to know, no gangreen butthole for me! Ha.

Maching side maker lights?
Like color? I'm pretty sure the front two are the same. The back to are red.
I think the right front is just on upside down. Or Idk. I want them to not even be there.
Like on a 69 but, I get what I got. They don't even work. Not one. Even tho they are hooked up. They never worked.. I guess I could delete them but nahh.
Thanks for let me know about the mold I didn't think that would be a problem. When I applied the caulk I used a heat gun for about 10 minutes getting everything dry.

I'll get what you guys are telling me however. I pull off the caulk I used.

Good deal man. Not trying to come down on you or anything. Just want you to have the right stuff from the get go. Would suck to have to redo the top in 6 months when it's fucked already and you spend all that time painting :|

My ex's dad likes caulking.... House caulking... Guess what he used on his ford :| He used fucking caulking to apply a fender badge. I told him not to, they make a special glue for that. What a tool. Once I saw him using a belt sander on his bed, not so bad, but it was on the fucking edges and he was taking down METAL.... loll.

Shit man I've done no body work and know better then that. Haha shitty.
Caulking sucks! I've know for a little while. Reworking bathrooms, showers and what not. For some reason people have a hard time applying the shit.

I'm glad someone said something about the seam sealer. I wasn't sure if that was what I would be looking for if I was looking for it. As u was putting the caulk on I told myself I'd probably end up taking it off anyway. I guess I just wanted to get it fix real fast, being I drive my truck daily..

I may have no clue what i'm talking about since I've only seen 1 521 in person but the right one (top pic) looks like the amber part is flush with the chrome trim and the left one (2nd pic) looks tapered. The right one does look like it's put in upside down.

I'll have to look and see if I have another front set of lights, I'm not sure I do. They are different you can tell, I just wanna know how I didn't. I may have only touched those lights once... Thanks man!
I don't it being ddifferent.

I was also looking at what I had put on my roof.

If I were to get this sealer here.. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000TQ6X7 ... L500_SY115

I'd need to buy a gun to use it right?
I don't mind buying that one or this one
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BI2814 ... L500_SS115

But if I need to use a gun for the first one I'd probably just buy the second one.
I want to use the right stuff.. I guess I can't be cheap when it comes to this.
I know the two part stuff is great stuff, has anyone used the stuff in the second link? Or you guys think it will be fine to use.?

Your lights are on upsidedown.
Always have been.
When Jaret owned it and when I looked at it 4 years ago.

The lights are correct though.
I have a different set you might like.
I'll give them to you next time you come over.

Don't delete them. They're for safety.
Mod them to blink with your turns.
