I'd take steering over brakes. I can steer around shit if I have no brakes. I can't really brake out of oncoming traffic though

Something that will hopefully turn this thing from a turd, to a polished turd. Either that, or a waste of a hundred bucks. I'll wait to unveil it until it gets here and I either fail or succeed.should be a few weeks

New piece of shiny. Gonna spray the spring assembly and underside of the hood black, so this should pop nicely

Thinking I should also start pulling everything I can off the goon I got for parts for this car. There are days I just feel like pulling shit apart, not actually fixing anything. And from what I understand(and have already ran into) there's a lot on these that are 710 specific. I'd rather have the parts stashed away so I'm not trying to findicate shit that's hard to get now, in 10 years. May have to build some shelving style storage in my back shed.

That should pop nicely!
Tho, sometimes something that pops to much makes it so things don't flow. Do it and see wat it looks like.

Well, looks wise this car is either gonna be gorgeously badass, or a major eyesore. I don't think there's gonna be any in between lol

Rust prevention on one side done. Gotta sand the top side still. Spent yesterday making a makeshift table, today was a yard work day. My fucking blackberries are scary...

So I got started on things today. Started with this
Sprayed it with the rust negater 2 months ago now, been sitting outside ever since and shit works great. The contents of my 100 buck package...
30 buck a can spray paint from a company called alsa. One purple, one green, and a clearcoat. I've wanted to spray this car purple since I got it, wife's favorite color. But I wanted to do it myself, and not spend grands to do it. So the skid plate was my tester for this.
Sprayed it half and half. The pictures look ok, but it's amazing in person.
Then I sprayed over each side to see which worked better being under the other. I'm thinking the purple works better under for my plan, which is the opposite of what I thought it would be. Now why do I need green if I'm gonna spray the car purple? That's where the rest of my project kicks in for the weekend.

Built this out of some spare 4x4s.
So that I could do this
And have a waist height table for using these
And now that it's getting to hot for me to work in the yard, I'm gonna load up the truck the rest of the way, go to the t recyclers, and then come back into the shade. My other project for the weekend to start on...
Part of my scary amount of blackberries
And a small swath cut through them. I fucking hate blackberries

Well, may not get a much done on this as I'd like this weekend. Heat got to me, thought I'd gotten out of it fast enough, apparently not. Heat stroke is a bitch

Peeled a little, but I literally did no prep work to this thing other than wiping it off with my hand. The skid plate was more to see colors, and see if the rustoleum would work as a primer. Outside of a little bit of peeling up on the edges, and a bit of bumpy spots from it not getting cleaned off, doesn't seem to be any flaws in the paint. Shit was worth every penny I spent on it. And I'll definitely make sure to do correct prep on the hood and rest of the car.

So far today, about 2 hours of sanding so far. Starting to think getting stripper would have been much smarter. Good thing I've never claimed to be smart. Probably use stripper when I do the rest of the car
