It's an 81 or 82, and it's home again.

Actually, it's an 80! The hood vents give away the year
I have the hood vents in my box of datsun stuff.

Actually the 80 has a louvered hood, it's a one year hood, see them just in front of the washer nozzle.
I don't have any photos of just the louvers.

Gotcha. it also has the little vent on the pillars behind the door IIRC. Must have been swapped off, but if it was ever swapped off, then they found one on a red truck lol the paint matches. But that is a good chance really, there's lots of red nissans out there. specially back then.

True, the hood could have been changed on yours to the 81/82, I don't know about the regular cabs at all, they have never interested me, kingcabs or nothing, well almost.

Yeah man. Same here. I have been wanting an 80 KC.. The standard cabs hurt my back if i set for to long. So I have some MR2 seats I will try out. I have had dodge neon seats before and loved those, as well as MR2 seats. the MR2 and Neon seats don't hurt my back. I grab a set anytime I see them and install them.
its the way i sit when in a standard cab. its not actually my back. its between my spine and my shoulder. deep burning pain from the way i have to sit.

You sit a few inches higher with Neon seats, it's kinda strange when I drive the 80, as it has Neon seats.

Depends on how you install them
I always install the seats at an angle. with the rear of the seat closer to the floor pan then the front.but i noticed that too yeah. installed a set in a 510 and hit my head when i got in

I just bolt the Neon seats in to the same mount holes as the stock seats, they are one of the few that will just bolt right into a kingcab.

AH i see. Hmm, WIsh i had a set to put in the 720 single cab to see.
I put accord seats in. I heard they are a close fit. They were! I was able to get two or three of the bolts to fit. One i had to buy a little L bracket and use. easy enough tho.

Aw sh*t!
My hood has the same vents as yours, Tim. It's an 80, also.

Word bird! I don't think the vented hood was the only one they stuck on 80s. Otherwise there are a lot of 80s out there with swapped hoods of the same color.
I remember that yellow truck
And actually. there is the pic of your yellow hood at the place you got the truck from

Fired up! Ran smooth. Just stuck in third
With it being lowered. it may be a little easier pulling the motor and trans same time, swapping the trans, and stuffing it back in.... Tho, it may be worth while just jacking it way up in the air and dropping the trans out. they are pretty light. Just a pain in the ass... fighting to get the top bolts, maneuvering them in/ out.... IDK wat do yet
