There is no such thing. A-series cannot be blown up.

Lol... I blew a hole in the piston of one before. Still drove it around for a week like with valves loosened on that cylinder until I could replace it. Got great gas mileage
When I was a kid my dad once was letting the car warmup while he was in the house and the oil drained out and seized the engine.
He put more oil in it and still drove it to work.

I remember a thread over on 1200.com about blown up A-motors. Considering their huge membership, I was surprised there were so few actual cases. One was being towed behind an RV that has accidentally been left in 1st gear. They calculated it at something like 17,000 for 10 miles before it finally let go. I don't remember what the exact figures were but it was REALLY impressive. Best I've ever managed was a burnt valve in a high mileage oil burner that I'd never done a valve adjustment on.

Valves do break and burn. But the bottom end is what counts.

I did what driven mentioned when I did my head gasket... Bent push rod, just tapped it with a hammer a bit straighter.. It wasn't and issue before and worked fine, re-adjusted the valves after the HG and bending that one straight. Was doing 6k shifts before, doing 6k shifts now.. (not all the time, but sometimes) and she's still doing fine.

N14 radiator, 1in core. Just fits between the frame rails. Best part, $47 shipped off ebay.

Nope, doesn't need it. Should be good upto an SR20, since that is what it was sold to cool for.

Little update:
Been super busy at work lately and I really haven't done much on the 1200 lately. Grabbed an oil pressure sender from Autozone, only initially stopped because there was a 510 in the parking lot though. Napa had the temp sensor but not the threaded part, Autozone has the threaded part with it but it is twice the price
Pulled the valve cover on the A12 and the head was super clean, pulled the plugs on the block and they looked good and stuck a light in to look at the pistons, they looked ok but #1 had a bb sized crater. I probed it and it seemed just superficial so I'm just going to ignore it for now. I've run way worse looking pistons with no problems in the past. When I get time I need to put the parts Ranman brought over onto the engine block. Still need to find a flywheel and some other parts.
Also made up some gaskets while I was at it.

Dats a big radiator, or at least wide. Nice and thin, too. Wonder what the fitment would be like in a b210...
Do you have a measurement height and width?

1200 and B210 should be identical. Absolute largest radiator overall size you can fit in a B210 is 26*17 by my measurements.
I picked this radiator based on the 1200 tech wiki which lists the sizes
http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki ... r_Upgrades
Might need to move or reposition the battery though as it fights exactly between the frame rails and the battery may be a tight fit or get in the way.
On my 1200 the battery tray is already shaved and moved to the frame rail so no worries.

Been filling out the A12, got most everything except a flywheel at this point. Dug up an old matchbox distributor I had lying around too. Found a new cast impeller water pump (long snout) for the pulley I got from Ranman. Not bad for 25$ from O'Reilly's. Still missing some minor bolts and nuts and some misc. parts.
Still not sure on the carb though. I have a couple of rebuilt A14 carbs, an old non-choke A12 parts carb and my old A14 franken-carb to pull from. Also I have this weber too.
Bought the carpet but still need to put it in, will probably do that tomorrow. Didn't really start any of this until about 11pm tonight though. Also some pics of the MR2 seats to go in once the carpet is done. I still need to clean them though.

I have the same MR2 seats.
Are you going to be using the seat brackets/rail things on the bottom of them? I am in need of one.

Nice progress man. I realy love the old 1200 carbs, in most cases I found that a14 carbs have smaller jets than the older 1200 ones

Thanks, I've heard that also about the jets. A14 carbs do have larger venturi's though. I'll probably pull the jets from the 1200 parts carb just to be safe, although I'd like to go say a size up on the secondary or so to get a little better power.
The sad thing is the a12 parts carb was actually super clean when I got it. It looked like it had been professionally rebuilt they just screwed something up inside when they rebuilt it. It ended up being a parts donor (throttle body and other stuff) to fix my old a14 carb (affectionately referred to as the franken-carb as it is built out of the parts of at least three other carbs)
.

That clean motor gave me inspiration to clean up my rebuilt 14.
I started clean up on it last night. I need to get some gaskets on the way so I can finish it up and install it.

Lol... that motor is so not that clean, I still need to throw it on an engine stand and degrease and paint it.
Problem is I need to pull the KA24E off the engine stand first....which means I have to fight the urge to just throw the KA in the 1200 and call it good. I already have all the parts to do the swap I saved up for the B210 so I could probably get it up and running with the KA in a week or so and for the cost of a driveline shortening and some easy to find misc. parts. But I'm so close on the A12 that I really want to run that for awhile, then swap the KA into the B210 while I have another car to drive. I would then put the A14 and H150 from the B210 into the 1200. It seems everyone is putting a non-A series into a 1200 and I just don't want to do that. The A14 I have in the B210 is a really good engine and makes my B move pretty decent so in the 1200 it should be very happy. Also the KA in the B210 is more of a sleeper anyways. Also this way both cars will be better off and I can put an A14 into a 1200 in my sleep.
It's sad when getting everything to get the original engine put together and in the car is more of a pain in the ass then an engine swap.
Actually the engine stand the KA is on is actually 510Keeper's and I would really like to return it to him at some point, especially as I have a new unused stand sitting in the corner.

So.... there are 2 engine stands. ... right?
