^ it's great to see you here Mike
!
I sure can't complain, but work hours have been getting in the way of me working on my Datsun. Plus I got side tracked a little
... I found out that Mike is going to do another batch of Z'd lower control arms for king pin trucks again. His stuff is awesome, I have a few of his goodies on my 620. When I found out he was doing up another batch of LCA's - I dug up an extra set I had stashed for my 620, just for this purpose. I cleaned them up and bead blasted them, then shipped them to Mike.
Now I'm in the queue for a nice 2" drop on the front of my truck with this upgrade. I have a set of 720 4x4 rear springs that I scored a while back too. So even though work has taken a big chunk of time these days, I managed to get parts lined up for future projects. I won't lower my truck until I get this Bluebird back on the road - first things first
!

I had a day off last Friday - with a break before the rains - so I checked out the wheels I picked up. I drove to the gas station, and the hardware store, while I had it out. This thing is a blast to drive, and it cracks everyone up with how small it it. It runs great, it just looks like a wreck
... but I'm working on it.
The front wheel sticks out about a half inch beyond the fender
... I'm not sure that will work.
The rear wheels are inside the wheel well by about a half inch, so that looks like it will fit.
I really like the vintage look these wheels have, now I just have to figure out how to make them work.
I still haven't swapped the radiator core support, that's the next big step to finishing this up. The drivers side is a little high in the front, I guess I got carried away pulling on it. You can see more gap between the bottom of the fender and the door, dead give away that things aren't lining up well. I want to knock that into place with the old core support before I cut it out. This was a good time to put the body back together and criticize my work so far
... much better to find problems now then after paint
!

Sorry K-Trip, my sausage fingers gave you a thumbs down instead of the intended thumbs up.
"Looks like a wreck" my ass, it looks damn good to me. Those wheels are gonna look killer on there.

I told myself I wasn't going to drive it much before getting painted, and I just keep telling myself that (
over and over).
Since it was my turn to help with the epic Datsun journey, I felt that was good reason to take it out again
!

I still haven't torn it down to swap the core support, not much has changed.
I just wanted to post a group shot of my
Datsun fleet at the start of summer 2015
