success.

no leaks that i could fine. idles better than before (i worked on the carb a little bit too). No studders, temp stays tits. gets up and goes nice. took it for a 20 minute drive. did great. no funny noises, shakes nothing... I set the valves. still need to time it but doesn't get hot, doesn't ping, just drives! Valves were a little off but I used a set of push rods off another motor... everything is back together except the air filter and timed by a timing light.

managed to get the 720 interior clean. radio hooked up. Checked out the motor a little bit, noticed one of the dizzy cap screws were missing :| lol, put a new one in it. still has a little missfire but better than it was before.. Need to get in there and delete the emissions shit, then start figuring out what's going on. I can hear a hiss but IDK where dafuq its coming from. i took two photos but photofucket is being a nikka and not working right now.

Nice work!

The hiss is the engine taunting you.

IDK if i don't see the lulz or you think she took the truck to work? She drove the car, it did great :) Stays cool, doesn't have a run-on at shut off anymore. Idles down like it should now (the choke used to stick on slightly before).

Still need to install air cleaner and time it, but as it sets now its tits. I should also adjust the air since its a new motor... Just make sure its tippy top. Needs to be perfect and reliable. Don't like gf driving iffy anything.

gf said she smelled gas real bad after setting for 4 minutes... fuuuuck.

go look, looks like a hose clamp gave up the ghost on the little piece from the fuel line to the carb. Need to snag some new ones!

On to the 720. There is a hissing noise i need to figure out. I think its related to the slight misfire. Seems like its non existent when the choke is on, but not for sure.
Reverse lights not working, not sure haven't looked.
need to get a handle for the sun roof or glue it shut. Getting tired of the rain.
Need to figure out where water is coming in from. Might double check the weep holes...
One of the u joints is needing replaced.
I don't see any oil on the ground, but I do see some dampness on driver side. maybe dizzy o-ring is poopy.
Once i figure out the water issue I can put the carpet back in.

Need to get a new cable for CB antenna so i can rock that shit.
That tape-deck is faptastic. Wish it had an auxiliary port. I'd keep it if it did.

last night and today. smelled something sweet like antifreeze :| IDK where its coming from (on the 720). I did run it on the beach last night. But can't seem to find a leak and its still full. Maybe just got a little warm and burped. thought the smell would have went away by morning tho.

Will be keeping an eye on it.

Shit!

If you don't see it.. and it's not going anywhere? Rad cap maybe?

Could be. I didn't look at it, like i said i cant see it. i smelled it last night, then this morning. But fuck if i can tell where its coming from lol. I did see some spots it may have blown out on the motor (but then again my coffee fell off the air cleaner and went errawhere) haha. I did kinda wash it off after that, so I know its not that...

IDK. I'll run it home tonight and pop the hood n see if i can see anything. I was cruising on the beach in second and made a run for the exit in 2wd and it bogged down (to soft of sand) got out and threw it in 4x4. It may have caused it to get hot for a second and burp? This happened in a matter of 30 seconds. So idk really.

Shrug, dunno! Need to get rid of the emissions shit so i can actually see what's going on under all dem hoses

I'll try a new rad cap. When the motor is cold it will get almost half way up temp gauge. then drop back down to a quarter (assuming the thermostat kicks open then). and all is well. Doesn't overheat.... I really don't know. I know i smell something going on, just can't find what or where...
