Small area of concern. Either electrolysis or crack between combustion chamber and passage way. It's not a line.. and it doesn't fully connect to the hole. I think it will still seal up. but If I have issues, I'll know where to look.

What I would do for a heated parts washer.... or solvent tank.

I doubt that will give you any trouble. You could always have a machine shop give it a cleanup pass or two.

I'm not too worried. It didn't have any issues before. It will likely seal right up.

Got a little more work done today. Got all the valves lapped and installed the first valve. With the valve spring compressor I have I thought putting the keepers in would be a major bitch. So far, the first one went in really easy. Fingers crossed.

[Anyone planning to do work on their head.... buy this... VVV This style is way better to work with.

The overhead spring compressors work.. but they are a pain in the ass if you don't have a lot of room to work with. I did all mine with this and I'm not withing I had 3 hours of my life back. The price difference is worth it. $13 vs $18 shipped.

They both have their place. No question the big C-clamp style works best if the head is off.

A cheap tupperware tub like thing, and some dollar store de-greaser and a paint brush. Stiff bristle and soft. Telling you man, makes super light work of that. The dollar store LA's Awesome degreaser is amazing shit.

Yes.. head off is no place for the on spring type compressor. it works.. but is horrible. I always assumed the c clamp style was out of my price range.

No head rests for now.. still trying to find a few pieces that broke or were missing when I bought the seats.

They look comfy. I know I'm repeating myself but I really like the lowback look. To me it fits better with the early dash.

I'm still trying to find the hardware to get the head rests. It's tough though.. these seats are pretty old.

For now, they will remain like this. Which I'm okay with. I like them either way.

A little bit more progress...

Before I could install the head I needed to remove this little guy:

Center punch
Image
drill, drill more, oil, bigger bit, drill, oil, bigger bit, drill.. repeat.

Easy out.. pray.

Success
