In this particular case it's geared more toward a factory correct restoration so I got to geek out on making sure all the hardware is correct and all the fasteners were in the correct locations.

Haha, I usually spend the whole time grumbling about following mowers around the same patch of grass for almost my entire life. I will admit that I enjoy the way it looks when it's all mowed though. Never have liked yard work much. Next house will have less yard and more shop space...for building engines.

Glass guy is supposed to be coming around noon tomorrow to set the front and back glass. Then I'll chip away under the hood some more. My dad is planning another trip down here sometime next week too and says he'll probably get the trim back on it. Hell, seems like I see more of him since he moved to Idaho then when he lived just over the hill from me.

Glass guy had to reschedule for Monday night so I helped him set the front and back glass. Unfortunately he didn't have the correct clips for the windshield trim so he'll need to make another trip to finish the job.
My dad rode into town yesterday afternoon and by the time I got home from work he already had the door handles and most of the emblems installed. He'll be continuing with the progress over the next couple days. I really appreciate all his help on this project.

I was going to wait until I rolled it outside to get fresh pics but I'm still tying up loose ends under the hood. All the trim, bumpers, and emblems are on 99% thanks to my dad. Everything underneath is done. I have most of the engine bay done. The stupid hang-up is the fuel line and brake lines. Seem that all that anyone local carries anymore is that greenish-grayish-blackish Teflon coated stuff, which is easy to work with but far from authentic. Might have to go to the interweb for that solution. Once I get that sorted, I have about an hour's worth of work before I fire it up and break it in. Been spending more time with the bastard bike and the Cutlass. All three are close to being done for this go around.

That's because none of the countermen can actually look anything up anymore.

I have a huge roll of the copper colored brake line. Its the copper nickel iron stuff. Got it at Napa.

It really shouldn't be this complicated. I just want the old silver finish that the car came with.

Finally got around to getting it fired and broken in. Runs really smooth and sounds great. Only thing I'm not happy with is the oil pressure shows a bit low. I'll bring my test gauge from work to verify before I freak out. We have a biker build-off planned for today so I'll have updates to both threads later.

Decided to change up the look a bit more. Came up with a set of simulated mag wheel covers that were on my grandpa's '68 El Camino when he bought it in 1970. They spent most of their time in storage and I never saw them in use. Always kind of like the look.
Still need to paint the air cleaner. Also waiting for the glass guy to come up with clips for the upper trim on the windshield. Kind of tough to see but the eyebrow trim above the headlights isn't installed yet either. Need to get current tags before I can put some street miles on it. So it's not quite done yet but the end is in sight. It got really dusty in my shop over the last few weeks so it really needs to be washed.

Nice... My dad has a 69 sitting in his garage.... He's got a lot of money wrapped up in that damn thing... All new wiring, new interior, new body panels, new new new... It needs body work done, and a little more tweaking on the front end. Aftermarket body panels don't quite line up. Shitty
