New World Datsuns...

I decided to peel up the tile and lay this in it’s place for now. Down the road , when the bathroom is ripped out. The floor will be a breeze...to do by comparison. For now , this updates a bathroom that looked like it was made in 1956 (but really it was built in 1987 original tile).

New molding and door casing s (not inside bedrooms or bath). I didn’t go with the more expensive stuff for now since there’s a lot going on. None the less , this is a clean look.

More things need paint inside the house...basically most places. Meh...lulz

I'm calling you when I start the wiring project in the attic. I've threatened to start it before. Supplies are by the back door. They've been there a few months. They'll be there in another few months, lol.

Looks damn good sir. I think you’ll be satisfied with that product. It’s almost impervious to pet scratches. What are those? 7 inch wide planks? Makes it go pretty quick when you’re in a big open room. Good on you. I think he did a fine job. Did you undercut the door jams or cut to them?

Your Supplies are sitting around forever to huh !? It’s like looking in the mirror , lol. My condolences , attics are always a peach to work in let alone re-wire. I’ll never forget having to re-do the 10/3 wire 220v for my stove-top insert...leading clear into the attic at my old house unexpectedly on the weekend. I was *extra* Grumpy as $&@“ that weekend I’ll tell you that much , lol.

I appreciate that Tater ! Yes sir 7” planks. Funny thing...the wood floor that I took out was a lot taller than why I put back in. Didn’t need to undercut much in many places. Some places I cut to , then hid any sins with the casings/molding per usual. I’m gonna have to shave/plane the guest bathroom door that leads from the bathroom directly outside.

Yes, working in attics sucks. I had to re-wire most of our last house in the attic since that’s where power was ran. It had the old aluminum wire wrapped in cloth insulation.

Pool time. Taking apart this lovely nasty filter. Looks like previous owner didn’t do maintenance for on this thing. First time I’ve been through the system , and 1st time I’ve dealt with a variable speed pump/this type of filtration. Weird.

New pressure gauge and bleed valve. Old were no good.

Skimmed the surface , used a manual sweep/suction , running the pump , and adding appropriate Chemicals. A touch murky , but I added the DE to the filtration/skimmer. The light even works. Green color in pic is an illusion , and it looks quite blue during the day.

Not much of an update. You can’t see it looking down this side of the property , but spraying commenced for herbs to be less of a PIA to me. I’m gonna have to try to figure out trimming that palm tree if I keep it.

Cooler parts came in...finally. Purge pump , main pump , and electrical plug box.

Got al of those parts ^^^ (above post purge pump , feed pump in )in and working 100%. During that process of replacing the electrical portion...literally found that the neutral wires literally slipped out causing things not to work. I originally looked at the entire box and said “$&@“ it putting in new I don’t have time to set aside for screwing with this” I stripped it back , tightened it up , works 100%. Putting $34 back into my pocket....to fill my car with 1.8 gallons of gas....

^^^ so after all that...filled the pan with water , ran the pump to soak the pad , and then turned on the blower. Need to adjust the spray bar. Which presented more issues....




Just gonna order a new belt from some other outfit. Last one said out of stock unknown when back in. I’ll match it up with the local auto parts know it all’s...



Adjustable pulley on motor end looks fine and Allen is tight



After running it longer than last time...I heard a slight banging. Guess what !?!?



The last service company...ruined the blower pulley...by not getting the key in all of the way and set correct pressure on the Allen screw (wasn’t on it at all). Only the jetway was sitting in the pulley this entire time. It wore the outside grove to cause enough play to be annoying...back to ordering more parts. I am never this annoyed and I’m not sure it’s worth it , but I actually found the receipt to the last service company that did the work from previous owner. SMH



More parts to order tonight that should have never been an issue. People are shifty...

Truer words never spoken. Most of my recent labor has been unfucking previous owner' shenanigans. Kinda like Datsun ownership.

Got lazy and used a sump pump to drain and wipe down the spa. The drain valve that should have been there by manufacturer design or schematic was not... didn’t want to screw around or play “let’s take off all the panels to see if I can find that drain valve....to make my life easier”. Maybe there was or wasn’t. Blue don’t care. Watered my lawn with 300-400 gallons in a matter of minutes. The ground has been so dry it took it up rather quickly...







I’ve got to get weed killer. Low priority though.

What weeds? At my house we just call that tall grass.
