Sigh, I wish lol

Deals like i got are to far and few in between. May just settle on a 125 2 stroker and be set. I did find a CRF250F four stroke for 1600 hundo in pdx. Needs fork seals on the front, but looks stout other than that.

Fork seals are usually pretty easy to replace.

Lol. Have looked at those too. Look like good bikes. In the ad, they always say "Was my wifes bike, used little" :fuu:

Hard decision.

Here's the list of ones I'm looking at

2 strokes

http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/mcy/4318771060.html

Very unlikey one of these.... 250 I think will be too much for the trails, amazing in teh sand, tho.

Aye. I rode my buddies YZ426F out on teh trails. It didn't like the trails lol. It's more meant for straight stretches than trail riding. Was such a pain in the ass starting it on a trail if you killed it. His was in decent shape, too. He traded that thing off as soon as he could. He ended up getting a suzuki LT250 2 stroke quad in trade. Now that is fun! My friend is a very good rider. He wasn't fond of the 426F either. Maybe his was just setup for racing? IDK lol

I keep checking CL daily.. Still haven't bought a bike. I think my spending limit has expanded a little.

Supposed to be meeting up with someone tomorrow about a bike. Fingers crossed.

99 KX 250. Fast as hell. clean bike!

Going to change out the sprockets, 12 tooth front, 51 in the rear. that should get the gearing right for crawling in tight shit, then I am going to add a 13OZ weight to the flywheel. that will smooth out the power band quite a bit. it will be the ultimate woods bike then!

Sneak peek. Image

My brother had an '02(?) KX250 that he got as partial payment for painting a VW bug. The guy he got it from bought it new and spent a bunch of money on it, then took it out and shattered his leg on his 2nd or 3rd trip out. My brother fucked up his back and collar bone on his 2nd or 3rd trip out. Be careful and don't get cocky. That's a lot more bike than that little 125 was.

FUCK YEAH!!

I've always wanted a kawi! The one thing I heard was don't get kawi, as they used some sort of seal on their innards. nicelseal or something plating on the bores. Shrug...

Driven, yeah. I don't get cocky. I am a cautious rider. On my cr125, i only got to 3rd gear on the logging roads, and never past half throttle. I don't punch it. I put down the trails in first. Going maybe 5mph. At 5mph you hit all the little bumps and it likes to slide. Always makes my asshole pucker. If I went a little faster I would glide across stuff and it would be easier to ride  But Too chicken.

I plan on buying the 12 tooth front sprocket and 51 tooth rear. that will gear it down. I can crawl in the trails with that (and if i ever get the nerve to do wheelies, it'll be really easy :| )

Also, I am getting a 13OZ flywheel weight for it. That will smooth out the power band. Instead of it being so instant, itll be a smooth transition. It will be the ultimate woods weapon with a few mods like what I am doing. plus if i get an 18" wheel, it will allow me to crawl on rocks a bit better. A little more sidewall. The 250 will still be plenty powerful enough for me to take to the dunes if need be.

I figure I will run this around the trials a few times after i get the mods done and see how it goes. If its too much bike, I could probably trade it straight for a 4 stroke 250 and be set.

boyesen covers
Pro curcuit platinum pipe
excell wheels
brand new tires front and back
race tech rear spring and fork springs, so the suspension has been gone thru
chain is in good shape
found original air filter cover in the box, so guessing it has a nice aftermarket one on it
orignial or spare clutch in a box
Original covers are in a box
spare plastics

this thing just has so much goodies with it. when pricing a bike, you can't really add a ton of money to the sale price because of aftermarket stuff. yes, raise it a little, but you just will be hard pressed selling a bike because of the accessories. a thousand dollar bike will be hard to sell at 2000 jsut cuz it has some goodies on it.

I think the 1450 I paid is a good deal. I am very happy with it.

It took 7-8 kicks to get it started, was a little boggy when he showed it to me. It was cold out, and he said it really hasn't been rode but 5-6 times since he rebuilt it 6 years ago.

I got it home, took me a few kicks (i had my shoes on, not my riding boots) so it took a few kicks, then she came to life... so much power, my god. I don't see how people can ride 500 2 strokes, that shit has to be scary.

So I will run the bike around a bit and see if it starts easier after some riding. Going to pull the carb and see how clean it is, also give the reeds a quick check. it's easy and free to check.

Ordering up the FWW and sprockets in a few, here is some more pictures. Work late next few days, will try and get some more pictures in the light. she is a puuuuuuuuurdy bike.

Bikes are not cheap :|

Just dropped 288 bucks.

Flywheel weight
Sprockets
Rear brake pads
Torso protector so i don't spear myself
Old school long john shirt to keep me warm on these stupid cold ass days.

I ordered a piston lock up tool. It's just a piece of plastic that threads into the head of the motor in place of the spark plug. Completely harmless to the piston/motor. But keeps the fucker from spinning when you are trying to loosen the stator bolt or flywheel bolt. I just realized I paid 10 bucks for that tool when there is a much, much nicer one that does two things for 5 dollars more :| Order said there is a problem, so If it didn't go thru I will change that to the better versatile tool.

I am editing this post and adding pictures of said things. refresh in a few minutes.
