Took today off work to do some datsuning.
All 4 tires are on the ground and the brakes are bled. It's low... but not low enough. Gotta go buy some fence materials then it goes back in the air and front and rear are going even lower. It has a little rake currently too, I'll try to remove it. We'll see.

Jumping on it, or bouncing it and rolling it does help it settle.

I belive the technical term is jounce.
The back seems pretty good... the front is rock fucking hard. It's possible the spring rate is way too high. I thought they were 200lb springs. Could be 250lb though. They were bought for car with a KA. I'll dig through my old wagon thread and see what they are. Either way I got them used. I might have to get some different ones.
If I wasn't in a rush I would be doing this a bit different.

What size tires? That car is just a little too high for my tastes. I like fender sitting right on top of tire, or at max 1/2" gap.

Those pictures are too dark to really tell how low it is.. fail.
Right now it has about a 1" gap on all 4 between the tires and wheel well. Running it that way gives it a rake.. I will probably have to go about 1" lower in the back. I like to have an even gap though.

This didn't work.. It needs a longer plunger or something. I'll pull the switch out and look to see how long it really needs to be. I don't have a stock switch to compare. I'll either have to try to modify the plunger or find another low profile switch with a longer plunger. The good news is.. it clears the tunnel really well and it can be installed without removing the transmission.. bad news, doesn't work. lol. Fuck.

Can you grind down the body (nut portion) so it screws in deeper?

You must have another transmission to test it in without a switch, otherwise how would you know it doesn't work.
Is it the same transmission that is in your 510 that your testing it on?
Is it a reverse switch?

The switch works. Just doesn't get pressed when in the transmission.
Dogleg in the car, 4 speed in the yard.

You don't know that it will not work in the dogleg then, you just know it doesn't work in the 4 speed.
It looks like it's aftermarket, so it might not work in anything.
Funny thing about transmissions is that what may look like the switch position for reverse may not actually be the correct hole for reverse, on the truck 5 speeds, it's the hole up front, even though reverse is in the back.

You'll see what I'm doing here:

It doesn't work in the dogleg. That's where I installed it. I've still got work to do.. haven't given up yet!

Also, still in the garage working! Got lots of shit to do... no time for sleep.
Compression tested the engine hot:
1. 157
2. 157
3. 156
4. 158
All with throttle plate close. (I forgot..) Told me what I needed to know though. Nothing abnormal that would cause a stumble.

I flipped the coil over sleeves and then lowered the split collars.
