lol

i used to mow yards for people when i was a kid. made some dolla bills. blew it on cigs and alcohol. then i got my license and used it for tapes and gas  the good ol days.

Coming along nicely. So i take it the original bores were still good and just needed a honing? I don't remember and don't want to sift thru the pages to find out.

Yeah their used, I was going to do the ka-e swap for the 521 just decided to do thin instead and really I think I'm going to be happier. I love the look of the su's and the L blocks in the 521 bay... It wouldn't look the same if the ka was in there...

Idk.

On and that piston is at tdc.. But as you can see isn't all the way up...
Just want to make sure that's how it should in fact be!?!

I'm glad you decided to stay L. To me, the KA is just a boring looking engine and it takes a lot to make them attractive. The L doesn't take much detailing to look stunning. Some polished parts and shiny paint along with the slight slant, rounded cover, and a pair of SUs can be almost pornographic.

I agree. I like L series. Glad you're staying this way. Ka-e with side draft carbs would have been dope tho lol

I'm really glad I decided to stick with the L!
I remember looking at peoples ka swaps and thinking that they just don't look right... Yeah its nice but isn't what should be there.

However a customer Mani and SUs would look sick on the ka in the engine bay..
Maybe on the next dattto

Almost pornographic??

Throw on a ribbed for her pleasure valve cover for the money shot.

KA-E with a mechanical fuel pump off the head and some R1's, I think, could look faptacular.

So the other day I'm getting ready to drive to a friends to help them out with a few things.. On the way there I noticed this ticking noise.. So later that night I drive long with the ticking still there and told myself, you know check my valve lash in the morning.

Morning comes and I make sure all my clearances are fine I get to the second to last valve intake and my .006 won't fit... Oh OK to tight... I loosen the but needed just like the others annnnnnd I still couldn't get my .006 in there... So I'm pretty confused at this point, I take everything apart rocker arm out lash pad, nuts. Reinstall after cleaning.. Same thing... Can't get the clearance needed... I decided I'd like to know what will fit in there, i then take out a .003 and it doesn't fit so I pull out the .002 and I slides right in...

I've got a problem... Haha.
I'll be taking the head off Monday after I pick up the chain tool from flatcat.
I really hope the valve isn't getting pulled into the head, Idk what's going on.
Its not my l20b flattop piston, u67 head.. However I have another head that I'll be using for the lz23 so I'll swap heads for now if indeed the valve is fucked. Or whatever.
I'm pretty close to having the Lz23 in my truck, found a 620 tranny so I can take its front case. Anyway little shit that's going on. That I've gotta take care.

Sorry if you guys don't understand I suck with word. And long writing...

Sounds like the valve in sinking into the head because you likely have brass seats, and you also likely have your foot deep into the pedal all the time, as a quick fix you can remove the adjustment bolt and then take the nut off of the bolt, shave the nut in half, that way when you put it back, the bolt can go deeper into the head because the nut is shorter, this is a temporary fix.
I have never done this, so I don't know if I really know all the things that need to be done, you may have to shorten the bolt that screws into the head also, but I would just make the nut shorter first.
