Are you planning on doing a before and after comparison? Hard to tell if it's an upgrade if you don't have a base line. I like the idea and I'm sure it has it's advantages or no one would do it. It'd just be cool to get some real world info about the differences from someone (you) who actually knows what they're describing.

Depends on how i like the swap initially. In all honestly it won't take much to swap a cam later

Been busy with my 610 getting it stripped down for paint so there's been little progress on my truck

But!!!!

I did confirm that the heli coil worked and the timing gear is on!!!



So no that my 610 is off for paint tomorrow I'll get back to finishig up my truck.

i hear helicoils are stronger then the original hole/threads when done right. IDK if its true... but what everyone says.


Guy at boeing says that they drill/tap, and use helicoil shit on all their bolts as they are stronger than just drilling/tapping a hole.

The machinist I used has done one in an SR that's still running so time will tell I guess

Head is torqued for the last time I hope
Idler sprocket is torqued(the one I heli coiled)
I'm sticking with stock cams for now, they are ready to bolt down

Up next I'll get the trans cleaned up and actually install this bitch!!!
