I didn't flush from the bottom. I'll pull it out and flush it more..
I flushed about 4 times all through heat cycles and flushing detergent shit. I'll keep at it.

There is an identical nos clock on ebay for the low low price of $500. I have only seen a couple of these around.. I just got lucky in my search.

I've seen the one on Ebay and was talking to him off and on for the last year about purchasing the clock, he won't budge on the price. For $500 it's not worth it, even if Jay Leno had tested it.
so where did you say you found it in your search ?

I found a thread on the realm from 2008 where someone listed it for sale. I PM'd him and asked if it ever sold... it didn't. I could not believe it!!

Welp... clutch won't swap. I should have known that.. I could get one local but it's from Autozone.. and it's $25 more than rockauto.

Alright, done for the night. Still have a few more things to swap over to the L20. Also Denmarkboy has donated a clutch which I'll have to install still... after that I'll get dropped in.
Likely little to no work will get done on this tomorrow.. But maybe Sunday. We'll see.

With the engine out, lay the radiator out and pour in the CLR. I also had CLR'd my heater core, but also hooked up my garden hose to the inlet/outlet and let its pressure blast clean everything. Course my block had been hot tanked. I never had an issue with rust colored coolant again.

Re: The forgotten Beige 69 510 build - NWD edition
I already did that to the radiator. The l16 needs hot tanked. The l20 is clean.. and will be going in soon. I'll get it all installed and flush the coolant system a few more times for good measure.

Re: The forgotten Beige 69 510 build - NWD edition
How to prevent rust from building when storing your parts. (Previous owner)
Cleaned up surface
Expensive flywheel holding tool. Patent pending...
Installed. Orange is faster than bare metal.
Ready to set in the bay.
Proof you one person can install an engine and stab the tranny while installed in the vehicle. It's a major bitch.. especially when you get to do it twice.
The aftermarket motor mounts are too tall I think.. I pulled them out and swapped in the old shorter 510 mounts. They are pretty soft... but I need all the space I can for hood clearance.
