Stayed after work 3 out of 4 days of the work week. This is what I have to show for it. And free is a nice price.



The parts on the left didnt come out exactly as I wanted, we didnt have a 3/4" corner round just a 5/8". This is the start of my motor mounts. My 510 ones are a bit on the worn out side. And I have seen too many people split them from power. Also, the 240sx ones are huge. So I did the natural thing and started making my own. The parts to the left will be bolted to the engine mount brackets (still need drill/tap for a stud). The parts on the right...




This is a mold. Its the inverse of a bushing. The bushing will go into the piece talked about above.



And this bolt holds the center of mold in.

By the time you're done there won't be many parts that aren't custom. Nice work

So, like I said, that is a mold above. And this is what gets poured into it:



60A polyurethane. The spray can is mold release. Im hoping that 60A is soft enough. But the good news is I can always remake the bushings in the future.



I also got a new part! well used...





This is a Blow Off Valve/ Diverter Valve. Its the same type that Wayno bought for his Turbo Diesel. Its unlike all the other ones for sale, as in it doesnt use a diaphragm, just a valve and some o-rings. Super easy to rebuild, and supposed to be pretty fast acting. Also, it doesnt make BOV noises.

Mine made BOV noises, I could hear it blowing off while driving down the road, didn't like it.
But that was likely because I was using a helper spring to try to help it open in the vacuum mode which didn't work properly, as it turned out it was never going to work properly, as the vacuum part wasn't made for use on a diesel engine.

Will these mount to the crossmember like a normal 510 mount would when you are finished.


I ask because I'm about to buy a set of 510 mounts for the 521.
521 mounts being non-existant. 510 mounts appear to be very close in design, fitment.

I used the 620 L20b mounts on my 521 work truck, it was kinda a bitch to get them in there though.

Havent thought about it... My plan was to mount them differently to the crossmember but it wouldnt be hard to make them bolt up to the factory location. I should have more of the final product next week. Need to make the bottom side of the mount. And I had to order a scale which I will get Sunday, so no pouring until then.

Why would you not want a BOV to make noise?

My car makes a hoot though the IAC under decel between shifts. Lots of people have assumed it was a turbo car.

I could hear mine making a air leak noise at 7/8psi, like a air grease gun, very annoying.
I like it when the waste gate releases the excess pressure, I cannot hear it and I can set it for a much higher blow off pressure(18psi).

I would like it to make noise, BOV noises are awesome. But um, I really dont like the idea of a wear item that isnt rebuildable. Normal BOV's wear out the diaphragm over time and start leaking boost, and probably not very servicable. This one just uses o-rings. It just doesnt sound like a traditional BOV.
