Re: The forgotten Beige 69 510 build - NWD edition
I got these really sweet floor mats from Al. (Denmarkboy)
I'll give them a bit of love and clean them up a bit. They are in good shape, just dusty. Thanks Al!
In preparation for Blue Lake and other activities I've been trying to get some miles on the engine. I am guessing I've got 100 miles on it so far.

That noise sounds like either the throttle linkage hitting something or the heater control flap

Ding ding ding!!!
I found the throttle linkage mount loose on the firewall and the linkage mounted to the carb was coming loose also. Put a bit of blue locktite on it.

Kind of.. I broke down on the way to work this morning. Matchbox module took a shit on me pulling up to a stop light.
I got it replaced and it's back on the road. 3.5 late for work though.. but that's ok.

I hate it when that shit happens, throw an extra module in the glove box, it doesn't take up that much room.
I have never seen a bad one before myself, my issues are always with the plug that connects to the module.

I have heard of them dying from an alternator going out.

What do you want for it? Just the matchbox right?
I'll hook up my scope and check out the alternator.

Idk. It was came from a junk dizzy in the JY. Got any hotwheels?
I think the alternator was due to lack of charging, low starting voltages, not enough amperage in the battery. Basically browning out. Your alternator is probably fine.

Kinda.. I re-adjusted the valves tonight to try to get rid of a bit of noise.. now it idles even worse. Wtf. I'll probably adjust them again and go on the loose side rather than the tight side.
I set them to spec though.. meh.
