This is the new radiator....
That has the same fan shaped cut in it...
I don't know what happened.. other then the fan hit my rad....
No wobbles in the water pump or anything.
The fan had to bend less then an inch forward to hit the rad. ???????
How's that about to happen???
Motor mounts messed up? Or tranny mount?? Letting it torque forward????
Electric fan Ita be next time..
160$ down the hole...
I'll try to get it fixed. If I can and isn't hella experience.

fan old and shitty flexing to much? Id suspect more than just that one cut. probably something out of whack. rev the fucker hard from under the hood, then maybe leave hood open and go forwards n backwards. see if you can see motor moving to much

seems like that one small tear maybe the problem.... i'd just swap motor mounts. it really isn't that hard... all you need is a couple sockets and a jack to get it done. It would have saved you 160 bucks

Also, fan pushes air backwards, blades want to go forwards.

Been looking at this.
More then likely I'll get a similar core and of course the adapter.
But I won't be needing fancy hoses being I want to hide everything so I won't order that.

Your motor mounts will not let your motor move forward like that
I'd suspect bad fan, pump, or even a bent pulley. More so than torn mounts.
Hell, maybe the rad isn't bolted down properly against core support.
Did it punch another hole in that one or just bent the fins?

Holes same place on the champion.
Different fan. Also didn't brake it

Bend the blade of the fan forward to verify that it IS in fact the fan.
Remove belt and pulley. What's not right of all involved parts?

I would check to see that the bottom of the radiator is bolted to the core support, you cannot depend on the hoses to hold it away from the fan.
If the motor mount is bad, and the tear is actually a fully broken mount, everything will twist under acceleration or deceleration, even the transmission shift lever will move sideways, seems like you would have noticed that at some point, but if it is a bad motor mount and if the bottom of the radiator is not bolted to the radiator core support, I suppose that when the engine shifts, the lower hose can pull the lower part of the radiator towards the fan if it is not bolted down under certain circumstances.
If the water pump shaft has been broken, it would seem that he would have noticed when bolting the fan blade onto the water pump shaft.
I hit a curb about a month ago in the 520, it pushed the core support back over an inch, the fan started hitting a nub sticking out on the bottom of the radiator, when I got home, I stuck a breaker bar between the back of the radiator core and the front of the frame and bent the core back forward where it was supposed to be, I am not sure to this day how the core could have been bent back that far being it is basically bolted to the frame, but it did get moved far enough back to have the fan blade hit the lower tank of the radiator.
I suppose if the cab mounts were loose, then giving it the gas or hitting the brakes hard could also shift things around also.

Radiator is nice an tight against the core support...
Doesn't move at all.
I haven't touched anything yet on the truck other then seeing if the fan really did hit the rad.

Well I took my rad out and water pump off, said fuck it I'll get a new one.
The water pump has no play, doesn't wiggle at all.
Spinning everything slowly the pully doesn't appear to be messed up either.
Have to be messing something.
Something has to be wrong I know there's something wrong.

What I'm thinking is, I'll be talking to a radiator shop to see what they can do to fix the aluminum one. Or take all of my rads in and tell him to build me one. If it happens to be a 2 core fine. Oil cooler.. so that shouldn't matter to much right? With a 2.3.

Finally got to a radiator shop.. won't be worth fixing the aluminum rad... so he's fixing the stock two core..
I've been doing nothing but working.. it sucks..
Only today have I been able to get some stuff.
Soo balance this bitch.
Get my drive line out and change yokes/u joints..
