Well I was hoping for an update today... but my welder decided to be stuck on turbo wire speed. Damnit. Probably a transistor died in it. I need to make an electronics order anyways...

And I failed. But I did get some things in the mail Saturday/yesterday. And I actually sat down and figured out my next step to take.

Ok fine, Ill feed the sharks.
3/4-16 LH taps are spendy. Soooo, I have access to CNC Lathes...
I really hate the lower control arms I had made. Im not sure if I even had used moog ones (really just wanted moog balljoints). So I ordered in a new set to remake them. Got my plan of attack Monday after looking at many pictures of how S13 people mod their LCAs. So step 1 was to make new 3/4-16 LH weld bungs. Managed to write a program yesterday and busted it out fast on my breaks. Yay. So far that is all I have though.
I have also started buying all my Silicone hose pieces. Damn they are spendy for quality ones. Going with HPS since it seems to be the gold standard.
Little ones are all for the coolant pipes. The single large one in the picture is for the Throttle Body to cold side intercooler pipe.
This weekend I need to do the waterpump on BMW (super slow leak) and maybe the right rear wheel bearing, its starting to make noise.

I did something. Um. And I ordered more parts!... Need to make some stuff at work (new TC rods), and um Derek is coming over this weekend. He should be welding my coolant and intercooler piping together...
Here I removed the turning stops from the LCAs Im modifying
Yea I know, not really worth posting... but its been awhile. (And I suddenly have a new deadline in mind that I would really like to have this thing running by).

Definitely worth posting. Any progress is better than none.

Agreed. I haven't even seen mine in 6 months, let alone do any work on it.

Ok so Derek did not come over this weekend... He was moving as he got the keys early...
Still, I did some things. Like cleaned up the garage.
I also made some new, but not quite finished TC rods. I say they arent finished because they need a lot of weight removed from them. They are Stainless Steel Aquamet 17. Super similar to 17-4PH. Super corrosion resistant, and way strong..
Left and Right hand threads for adjustment on the car.
Started work on the new LCAs. I really like the new design over the old. (New on the left). Looks more streamlined, less weight, and well it will actually be symmetrical side to side unlike the old ones.

I have boxes incoming. I hope I get them all this week. 1 of them says Monday currently (but USPS hasnt updated), but Im really hoping for this weekend, it should as its from California...
Bought a 3/4-16 LH tap. This is to ensure I don't distort the threads again on the weld bung. I seized a couple parts together... boo. No idea if this tap is of any quality. No branding on it, I dont have high hopes.
I dont think I ever updated, but I got a slightly different T25. Thought it was a T28... Anyways, it from a S13 SR20, so same Compressor wheel, larger Exhaust side. Its also has virtually no slop. But subtle differences include the inlet on the compressor side is bolt on, and the one I have is a right angle, sooo time to make a new one (because $40 is too expensive for a piece of aluminum I can just make at work).
CA T25 on the Left, S13 SR T25 on the Right:
Progress on the inlet flange. Bore is done (needs polished).
This side is 2.090"
This side is 2.480" Makes a nice taper from the pipe size to the turbo size.

I found out I we have some nice BluePoint and Proto snap ring pliers at work... So that will make indexing the turbo cheaper.
Oh and all packages will be here this week! Plan successful.
More progress on the Turbo inlet. All the lathe work is done now.

Manager let me take the snap ring pliers home for the weekend. Yay.
And I finished the Turbo inlet. It looks real nice. And it matches the bore on the turbo perfectly!

Do you have a target date to get this car back on the road at this point?
