The bed seams look like it would make things pretty tuff.
But it turned out great. How bad does it rub, overall.

ive gotten like 98% of the rubbing handled. on really big bumps, the back will rub a little but on the driver side in the back.
turing radius is little less now, but its all good.
wayno, it hits the ground without a flat... lol

drove it work work this whole week...
re-tuned the idle mixture screws, and its getting alot better mileage.
gonna give it a break though.. while its fun to drive, its not really that comfortable to drive daily. the front suspension is toast..

Right.
I was surprised to see you slam it that low. Low riders are fun, but damn dude its rough riding in shit like that. that orange and white one I had was fucked. Hit a pebble or a bump it was loud and a jolt...

well the ride isnt the bad part, mainly the steering... all that shit is prolly stock and worn the fuck out..
it likes to follow the ruts in the road and evrything..
should be a lot better when i get the balljoint parts on the front..

pulled a dumbass move the other day on the way to work..
truck was low on oil, put quart in. close hood.
left the oil cap off.
this happened
it just a little more than a pint, but its a mess...
and like i expected, the weber freezes up on the cold intake.. its still driveable, but taking off sometimes it bogs out real bad from being frozen and losing velocity in the intake..
its a good summer setup, but its showing its shitty side in the cold.. i cant blame it. i need to heat the carb. plain and simple.
dad had an idea of welding a piece of aluminum pipe on the edge of the adapter plate we made, and putting hose fittings on either end for the heater core hose to run through. it would heat up the pipe and transfer to the plate... prolly wouldnt be hot enough..
jason said he has an ka-e s13 intake and harness..
im thinking about going with the 240 intake. i have a computer controlled dist still from when i got the KA.. id just have to get an ECU and maybe a can am..
ive kinda worn the thing out over the last few years. the KA is beyond tired right now.. it still runs great, but isnt all that fast anymore.
the clutch is toast. i dont blame it either. its been on the z24 i got it off of from the junkyard. it was on the l20, the z24 i had, and now the KA. its had a good life..
the tirerods and crossbar for the steering are stock im pretty sure. theyre loose as fuck.
the rear leaf springs are almost worn through in the front again..
my carrier bearing is not a bearing anymore. just a sleeve around the driveline, with random chunks of runner supporting it..
the key things is really needs:
balljoint converison in the front
possible front coilovers?
clutch
3link and coilover setup in the back.
new steering parts
my own wheels and tires.
junkyard 5.3L
camaro 5 speed
3.54 rearend chunk
wait.... wut

this the motor mount after the new years car meet...
i busted the redeye KA swap mounts... and i found out why, too..
i didnt notice the back 2 bolts that go to the block from the mount were gone.. the exhaust manifold obscures them from being seen at a glance..
sooo, i know why it busted now..
im gonna get it pulled off tomorrow and weld it up. i already found a few new motor mount bolts to use once ive fixed it..
fun fun fun..

the original didn't look like he had superb penetration. Just my thoughts. Barely went below the surface.
Don't think that's the cause of the break, but surely didn't help stop it.

Yea, but the weld didnt break, the metal did. Plus the part that broke off is 1 piece with the rest of the metal that lays "against" the block. So that truly is the metal itself breaking.
