Fork seals. Fresh fork oil at the appropriate level makes a huge difference.




I had the better of my 2 old chains soaking in gas for the last week. Scrubbed it clean and blew it dry. Then double Zip-Loc'd it soaking in gear oil. This can ride along on the OBDR and hopefully we won't need it. Old master links go on the key rings.




Aside from my backordered fender for the white bike, I think they're ready.

Practiced my social distancing today for about 85 miles.

Your going to have some time on your hands from what I have read, if you cannot work on your shop you might as well do some riding, I have seen photos of that place before, it's in Oregon.

I never had a dirt bike when I was a kid, probably for the best as I was a klutz, I likely would not be here if I had, it's likely why my family thought hanggliding was a crazy hobby for me to have, somehow I survived.

Yeah, just across the Oregon border. There were more people out there today than I've ever seen. Idaho people don't like being told what to do.

So you just wanted a white front fender, or was there something wrong with the blue fender?

Different bike. They've changed a bit since I got them.










The white one is my main ride and the blue one is my loaner.

OK, I went back and looked closer and then seen you already put before and after photos, I guess it is personal preference, I actually like the original fender more, but the new fender likely does the job better, especially if wet/muddy, I am more of a road bike guy.

We have really sticky mud around here and if you get into a patch it sticks to your tires and rolls up like a sleeping bag. The rear of the front fender is a bit further away from the tire than the center where it mounts and it's less than an inch to begin with. As the mud packs in there it actually wedges so hard it locks the front tire like you anchored the brake. At best, you're stuck there. At worst, you go down hard and fast. This time of year there are lots of runoff crossings out there.



There are relocation kits to raise the stock fender about 3/4" but the dirtbike fender and a few zipties actually cost less.

How long did the shaking last?

Yeah, they've been working down there forever.

Only shook for 8-10 seconds at first, then a 3-5 second aftershock. No big deal at first glance. I may find some settling damage later. For the record, my deck already has some settling.

Your deck can likely be adjusted/shimmed, but the house would be different.

Yeah, i actually noticed it shortly after the house was built but have elected to see how it stabilizes. It'll require the three pillars to be raised along with some mud jacking under the patio. It's really not noticeable to the average person, but I can't not see it.

Is it something you can do yourself?

Probably the deck part. Not the concrete. I thought about cutting the slab around the pillars so they were independent. Then I could address both separately.
It's really not much of a priority right now.

Dinner looks good

While the crew was here yesterday to trench for a conduit from the power pole to the shop, I had them run a trench from the neighbor's irrigation line down and across my driveway to the corner of the upper field/pasture.





This afternoon I brought the tractor back over from winter storage at my dad's and smoothed out the scar across the driveway. Then ran the drag up and down the driveway a few times.



The driveway will probably be an ongoing thing as it compacts.
Lots more dirt to move and general grounds keeping over the next days and weeks.
