Power sags at work are pretty rare, but yes I agree! Especially on these longer prints.
I haven't decided what I am going to do with the model yet. I'm going to finish it out and I'll make a decision. It's designed for shallow gauges. I'm not sure how many manufactures design 2-1/6, 28mm shallow gauges. Although that could be easily modified.

What printer did you get?
Im running a RaspberriPi2 as my wireless print server. Its running Octoprint. I even added a Relay board to switch the main power to the printers PSU, so that I can turn it on/off over the web interface. The RaspberriPi stays on constant, but it consumes so little power. I can access it away from home, and it has a camera to so I can keep an eye on it. I want to add a Temp probe above the printer for a safety against fire, and have it trigger to shut it down/send me a message.

It's not mine, but I have access to it at work. It's this:

or something similar to it. Heated print bed and a few upgrades here and there.
The RaspberriPi is a great idea!

got a few connectors from vintage connections. These are to cleanly install an IR alternator. I think I paid $7 shipped.

I buy my terminals from Mouser. Think last time I made an order I grabbed 100 each of male and female. Also I did grab some Flag ones for the H4 light connectors, but I think I used them all up. I think Mouser probably has those connectors, but that is way harder to find there...

I like mouser too. But I agree, probably harder to find.
With vintage connections, you just buy the connector and the spade terminals come with it.

I thought about spraying the exhaust manifold with ceramic high temp paint.. but it's a process and I'm sure it would eventually just look like shit again.

I've had good luck with VHT "cast iron" header paint. I bead blast the manifold and paint it. It comes out looking like raw iron at first and then takes on an almost gold hue with age. Definitely stands up though. Doesn't burn off or rust, and that's the point.

There is a place that does ceramic coating and powder coating pretty close to my work. I'll give them a call tomorrow when they are open. The rusty manifold is killing the engine bay.
