Re: soon to be LZ2.3 521 :)
I will explain a little better now, as I have a little more time.
When you buy an aftermarket electric fan that connects to the radiator, you get the fan, thermostat, the wiring, four or eight 1/8 inch pads, and these sort of zip tie things that have a plastic washer that the zip tie goes into.
What you do is put 4 of the foam pieces between the 4 fan mount legs and the radiator, put the zip tie threw the fan mount leg, threw the radiator fins till it comes out the other side, then you put another piece of foam on the end of the zip tie where it came out, then put the zip tie washer on the end of the zip tie and pull it tight, once you do that to all four fan mount legs, the fan is not going anywhere, the foam is to keep the fan/engine vibration from damaging the radiator fins.
All this said, if you mount the oil cooler so that it will not touch the radiator at all, then you are good.
You could actually mount the oil cooler to the radiator just like the electric fan if you have the special zip ties I have been talking about, along with the foam pieces to separate the two parts(radiator/cooler).

Good info man.

I was thinking about the fan zip tie things but haven't any idea what I'd type in to try an buy them... Also didn't know they came with foam type stuff. Good info however thank you Wayno..
I was able to get the rad/cooler about a half inch from the radiator.. I'm happy with the way it sits now.. I need more bolts and nuts so it can be bolted down down with 4 bolts and not just two.. but now I need a picture on this page..

Re: soon to be LZ2.3 521 :)
You can make them out of regular zip ties, a zip tie has two ends, one has a groove you slide the other end into, so you find small washers that the small end will slide threw, but it will not fall off the other end, put a washer on the end, then a piece of foam or a round rubber washer the same size as the washer you first put on, then slide the zip tie through the oil cooler, then slide a 1/4 inch thick, about 1 inch round rubber washer over the zip tie, yiou need to do this to all 4 corners, now slide the whole thing against the radiator till the zip ties come out the other side of the radiator, now keep in mind that when you do this you need to make sure that the zip ties go into the radiator straight, they have to go into the radiator like there was a hole for them, because if they go in off center from where they come out of the oil cooler, then when they get tight against the radiator they will start pulling to the side and can damage the radiator.
Now that you have the oil cooler against the radiator with the zip ties coming out of the other side, you then put a rubber washer on the zip tie, then the washer that will not slide over the end, now you take another zip tie and slide it on the end of the zip tie sticking out and pull it tight, now you have a choice, either cut the end of the second zip tie off that is not being used, or if you plan it out, you might be able to stick that zip tie back threw to the front of the oil cooler, then slide it in the end of the first zip tie creating a loop, but you have to plan how to do that, and you need more custom made parts to do it that way.
Obviously if the radiator were out and on the ground, and you know where the oil cooler is going to go, you can put the pads on top of the radiator and then sit the oil cooler on top of it then slide the zip ties straight threw with all the parts on the zip ties, there is always an easier way to do things, but I am just trying to give you ideas on how to do things, and you can figure out how it is the best way for you to do it considering your situation.

Not a bad idea at all.. If I don't like the way this ends up when I'm done then that's probably what I'll do.
Thanks for the ideas too..

No pictures do to my phone being dead.
I received the transmission mount from wayno. Fits perfectly. Fixes my problems.
But heres what I had to do.
Got the tranny under the truck and drive line bolted on both ends while the truck was flat on the ground.
Then looking to see if the hole on the tranny line up with the hole on the mount... no.. they didnt... so I am going to drill new holes in the trans above the stock bolt holes.. I'm not afraid. . Ha.

What do you mean you have to drill new holes?

So you need a stock mount, but it needs to hold the transmission lower.

Re: soon to be LZ2.3 521 :)
No. The mount does what I needed it to do. Move the trans back out of the engine bay.. I need the trans to come can 3/4 of an inch back so the one piece drive line would bolt on. I'll be taking pictures here in a minute or so.
Re: soon to be LZ2.3 521 :)
No. With the stock mount the trans was to far in the bay. There wasn't a problem with lower that know about.
Re: soon to be LZ2.3 521 :)
I stopped after this one.
Thought I should get the block and trans together like it would be.

Re: soon to be LZ2.3 521 :)
You can see the bolt is a little more further forward then where it normally would be. But as you can see I didn't make a new hole I more extended the old one so the Trans would still sit where I need it too... well ill see in a few days when I get the block in.
