My little blue gem! 71 521

Well here I am again from a VERY brief visit to purchase a matchbox dizzy.

I promised that I would post over here what I'm posting on Ratsun about the progress on the truck and I generally don't go back on my promises whenever possible. There is A LOT of info and pics of the truck in 2 different threads over there that I will give the link for so I don't have to waste everyone's time with boring details. ;-)

Anyway, since I'm finally working on the truck, I am just gonna start posting here from where I'm at now on it.

*posted on Ratsun 8/26/14*

Lots of pics ... figured it shows more of the condition of the truck.

It looks like a great truck to start with. I'm looking forward to watching your progress!

I was looking at your truck/thread yesterday ... VERY nice truck! As far as the blue, if I'm honest, I've never really been a fan of it but it is kinda growing on me and your truck plus another one I saw in local CL that was freshly painted in the blue that was lowered with chevy rallies, has helped me start to like it. Unfortunately though for the blue lovers, I want to ultimately paint mine an "adapted" silver, maroon and navy BRE racing scheme but that's way down the road.

@ K-trip ... hard to believe that was almost a year ago. I am happy and unhappy with the start of this truck. The first thing is that the more I think about it the more I believe the person that sold me the truck knew that it had a seized engine and told me it just needed a distributor. The second is that it's just a tad bit more rough and rusted than I originally thought but it still is a good start and can't wait to get her runnin' and looking halfway decent. Gonna buff it out soon ... should look a lot better. :)

I will be faithful to post the same updated picture posts here but I joined Ratsun first so for all details on my project/truck, people will need to go there. I just don't have time to post both places about everything. ;-)

I went and found the picture of the "other" truck I mentioned other than yours that is bringing me around to liking the color. It is or was for sale in CL fairly locally last weekend. This truck has the offset and stance that I'm gonna want for my truck when it's done. Not too low but low enough and all the way out to the fender wells but not further rim offset. Seriously thinking that Chevy Rallies will be my rim of choice with some type of a custom center cap for a while until I can afford Trans Am racing looking rims ... just dreams but a man can hope right?? lol

Yeah, I wish I had that one instead of the one I have right now. They wanted $3500 for that one but I can't afford another truck ... can barely afford to get mine on the road.

Will update this thread soon with more pics ... got the transmission out today.

EDIT for pics ...
