Sold our last home , and got into this one. Went from city life to country life with some very welcomed breathing space. Drastic change. More details/pics will be released. Progress will be slowly.... but surely.

A week or two after moving in, Threw down plastic pallets to store wood. Had a cord of wood delivered for cheaper than I can pick it up myself. Stacked it. Time to get at the very least 1 or 2 more,

Hardwoods are fantastic to burn. A lmond is a good one.




Feed the beast. I gotta say , really enjoy being able to use , and actually use a stove again. 5x cheaper to.

Thou shalt not

Man I love free stuff. Our existing opener was in poor shape. When someone I know said “hey , do you want my 7yr old perfectly good g arage opener for free” especially the older gear reduction unit design. I didn’t think twice.

Took that baby home with a slight grin , and replaced my 23yr old unit of the same brand (failing board in my existing one). 30-40 minutes ? and (2) beers later works like a charm.

Getting free stuff that works can become an issue, I have given away garage door openers just to have them replaced, the spot I emptied did not even get cold.
Right now I have an extra complete garage door track assembly, I used my old one instead of replacing it, all this stuff has to have a place to be stored, I have way too much stuff, don't enter that rabbit hole, go back towards the light.

^^^ solid , wise , and sane advice. I’m better about not keeping everything , but my addiction can easily persist acrossed all items. It makes it even worse x10 when the new property has the capability of holding 100x more random items.

As for the opener , I tossed the old one , and put in the new to me one without thinking a blink. Not many things go wrong with that model that couldn’t be easily remedied or bypassed.

Back tracking on events.

The “rain man” (pump guys) said I was good to go on allegedly a 3 hp well pump. Old galvanized Pressure tank is holding just fine apparently. Pressure switches aren’t full of ants. I don’t hear or see anything that bothers me. Pump comes on around 25-30psi ? Shuts off around 55-60psi.



Interestingly , the rain man said at my well depth and needs 3hp well pump was simply overkill. Maybe owner or builder thought it was needed for maintenance on the these ? Idk. First time I’ve on eel water or owned an in ground pool.

Tell me you're in California without saying you're in California. All of that out in the wide open and no real freeze protection. Mine is all inside a rigid foam insulated enclosure within a well shed. Some of the plumbing is wrapped and there's a heat lamp on in there for 4 months out of the year.

Is the tractor yours?

Sadly...that tractor is not mine. I tried to purchase that one , and the Kubota diesel tractor next to it. Owner wanted $3,500 above used market value per unit.

Semi-undisclosed warm location. I couldn’t believe it myself. I told my wife the same concern with the well/pressure tank/pipes leading in and out. I let her know we need to ear mark insualtion/ structure of any kind to keep that thing warm in the event. For now insulation is around all the pipes and a temp blanket wrapped around the pressure tank. It’s not much but something.

On the same issue.. Which brings me to the pool pump and it’s pressure tank. Same issue that could have been easily avoided. That’s going to get done to even if temporary. Unbelievable to be 100% honest.


Interestingly enough , we hit 80-degrees high here today.

Looking From the SW corner of the property (pretty much the side of the front of the property). Previous owners liked to grow some fruit. The had grapes , oranges , apples , pears , avacado ? , plum , and others that have been misidentified or I haven’t been able to figure out what they are.

Plans are to add to these trees we’ll be transplanting from our old house while they were dormant this past season.



















They’ll need some help , but going to try to keep them alive as best as I can. Not sure if we’ll keep the apple trees , will have to see.

If you know....then you know...there’s nothing to compare to home grown fruit. Eaten fresh or dehydrated even.

Looks like a real nice place D. I like it. I wish I had an apple tree. I eat one every morning for breakfast. All I have currently is a fig tree and blueberry bush. Had to cut the pear tree down when we moved in so I could get our storage shed in the backyard.

Thanks J ! I appreciate that man. I like apples myself , my wife turned me onto the cos mic cri sps from the store. I really enjoy our local grown oranges , I put out on 4 to 8 in one sitting of those. Blueberrys and pears are great.

Had to upgrade yard equipment. Mowing acerage is not like mowing a regular lawn. In fact , a tractor with a mowing deck should be the standard , but maybe at another point. For now this will have to do.

54-inch deck. I prefer the old manual gear boxes , but this is what they had to offer for the last some years. I’m thinking of collecting 3 or so small mowers and connecting them in tandem like ducks to help cut down time.

I have a coworker that swears by his Husqvarna mower. Absolutely loves it, so hopefully you get some good use out of that one.

104” for your interest

That’s good to hear , especially for the long term. The backing up hills or an incline is interesting on this one. That 104” deck looks like a dream ! Who doesnt love a zero turn !? This one is 54” , and I would never have bought one that large for the last lawn haha.

It for sure does the job.



Previous owner pushed a Bhurm up against the drainage canal , not sure if he was trying to keep water in ? Or out ? Or re-direct flow ? I guess I’ll find out in time..hopefully not the hard way.



I couldn’t pass up the deal on this. I picked it up for next to nothing really.
