I put a little money into parts for her. New alt, water pump and a starter. Found a back window for her too. Did some cleanin and even drove her around the block a few times. She runs great.
Then I lost interest. My best friend (15yr old black lab) and my father in law both passed away like 2 weeks apart. Then we were going through the process of finding a house to buy here in Boise. On top of that I was only home 1 maybe 2 days a week. Plus the time spent keeping the 521 on the road. We don't have a fullsize pickup anymore so the truck gets used a little bit haulin crap. Needless to say the ol girl got put on the back burner.
Fast forward to this year. We are settled in our brand new built for us house and I have a home every day local jobby. The original plan was to buy it as my sons first car, teach him some shit about engines and car stuff. Ya know, stuff every guy should know. Well he is now 14 and a half and is getting his learners permit in the next few days. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU......!!!
Anyways, today he showed some actual interest in his car. He asked me if he gets a job and gets the money can he get new rims for it?? "Well fuck yeah you can son!!"
So, long story short....I'm gonna keep her and get her road worthy. I was real tempted here a couple months ago to start partin her out but, I am glad I did not.
Since Wide14u works at a junkyard now, he can help me source a rad with a tranny cooler in it and I will be taking her down to one of his garages so we can have datto night and work on a 710!!!
