New World Datsuns...

Figured id make a build thread on here since she is my project. All i really need to do is headliner, door panels, then exterior cosmetic, i have all the parts on her i could want or ever need, and the motor still runs strong for almost 300k (gotta love dan hart motors :-D ) Put on my blue bird grille from coreace today, and mocked up my carol shelbies and my air dam, plan on repairing my air dam tomorrow then putting it back on the car (as long as it clears my driveway) I just like her to set apart form art in how she looks.



God i cant wait to put these on, but front end needs rebuilt and aligned first.

Its been hard for me to change how she looks or work on her, but its time, i cant let her look any worse. She looks the same as she did when my dad bought her, i always remember her looking like this, and driving like she does, but its time i put that nostalgic shit behind and finally start working on her, why i changed the grille, and im taking the enkies off for the shelbies, i hope some good visual changes gets me rolling on her. Love this car, was my first car, my first 510, and my dads daily driver for years. I have so much history with her, time to take care of her.

The purple on the airdam did not come out ANYWHERE near the purple on the car, even though the cap matched perfectly LOL. looks good to have the air dam back on there, lip is finally on right as well for the rubber skirt. Only put 4 tight bolts and washers on there in case i need to take it off fast, going to get some zip ties for it as well to run through the extra hole.

Nice! im excited to see where this one goes! im liking the wheel choice for sure. personally not a huge fan of the airdam / spoiler but thats just my oppinion, Looks great!! is that one of those repro grills that someone around here is making? ive seen one in person, their pretty impressively well built!

i like the rear spoiler since its different, i hate all ass ends looking the same, the air dam needs the correct paint..was not happyt he cap matched..but the paint didnt. and yes its the repro one from coreace ..he did a hell of a job. Im going to feel weird taking my enkies off after 23 years on the car, but its time for changes on her.

It's nice to see some variation in 510's, everyone seems to go for that "get a 2dr, slam it and tuck some wheels" look. Between the spoiler and the grille, you've got a good looking setup here.

Put my 411 sss badge on. I like how it looks.

My new SSS badge came in. I love how it looks, going to peel the nismo sticker off the back and put the badge i had in front on the trunk.

Poor purple today, was washing and a huge chunk of paint came off, so i kept working the paint off, this is what i got. Im kind of digging the patina on it, wife hates it though LOL. plan on sanding/grinding the whole car down to bare metal this summer, then put in primer...hoping i can find purple primer >.<

doesn't look like who ever painted purple, didn't use any primer. Will you be repainting or you just going to roll it that way ?

Eventually re paint. The guy is now a major painter and body shop owner i guess, this was apparently the first car he ever painted. ANd yes...no primer that i could find, its why the paint has been coming off so much over the years.

Finally got Art cleaned up, cleaned the engine bay to. Clean enough to eat off of. Also got my SSS badge put on purple. Put it where the stock 510 badge normally goes. Aparently the stock color under there is the baby shit tan...just majorly faded on the hood, so i should be able to strip the paint off the rest of the car and have a major patina look before she goes into primer.
