Meet Buttercups aka Reeses
Hi all!
My name is Kenny and this is my first build thread!! I have been drooling over Datsun's my whole life, My first love was a red 240z when I was just a little guy.
I've been around them for a while, my best friend in high school had a 620, and I loved that truck. Then we both bought Nissan Hardbodys. Here is a pic of the very first truck that I ever bought new. 1993 Nissan Hardbody with chrome package for a whopping 10,000 bucks
I'd do me
I had that truck for 14 years and it never let me down, EVER!! It was slammed about a week after that photo was taken.
The next new car I bought myself was a 2004 Nissan Sentra SER-Spec v, the Mustang Eater. That little sucker was fast!
Here's a picture of it at my favorite coffee house in Big Flat Ca. North of Weaverville a bit. I go there a-lot
I loved that car!!
Anyways I bought a goon about a year ago and have a 620 that still needs a lot of work. I got the 620 cheap, probably going to be a parts truck.
So here's buttercups the day I bought her
Whoo what a rusty mess!
Here is how she looks now
I have acquired lots of parts for her and will update with more photos! She runs like a champ, and has a 280z 5 speed. The PO also threw in a dealer AC unit and a creeper.

Re: Meet Buttercups aka Reeses
When I first bought Buttercups she would sway all over the road, so I got some coilovers from 510keeper, and some new polyurethane bushings from Autozone.
Here's my homie Marc helping me get them coilovers together.
After they were put on, with the new bushings it drove waaaay better. It just has too much rake
I still have to lower the rear, which is turning out to be a pain in the ass! I found out you need 3 to 5 degrees of angle on the lowering blocks, and custom u bolts to hold it all together.
I would love to get this done while i'm on vacation. We'll see.

I love the chrome wiper blades on the Hardbody...
The blocks and bolts on the rear end of the Goon can be sorted by noon, man.
Lookin' good!

Yeah man, good line up of cars over the years!
This one aught to be good. Buying cars new, and having to pay premium price for them I'm sure you are used to taking good care of them, so this shouldn't be any different. Ill be watchin

Sorted by noon? I'm a little confused on the rear lowering. I tried blocks but nothing fit up right. I'll have to read some more.
Thanks! It's taking longer than expected but it will get there!

I'm never buying a new car ever again, but my neighbor used to tell me I was going to rub the paint off because I used to wash them so much.
Thanks for watching

Re: Meet Buttercups aka Reeses
I am sure most of you realize how hard it is to find a metal 510 fender. I did not want fiberglass. I spent a good amount of time on cl and found this from a Z guy in Roseberg.
Today i'm getting it sanded down and ready to go.
Tomorrow I am going to install that sucker.
The Pioneer speakers are pretty rad!

A tip for you guys out there... Don't try and remove the bolt. Just tighten it down till it snaps. Then get a pair of vice grips and twist it out the other side. Works perfect, no more removing busted bolts.

The top was so badly rusted there wasn't anything there anyway, I pulled enough dirt out of the top of the fenderwell to plant a garden . She's at the metal shop now getting new ones made, I would do it myself but I am going to enjoy the rest of my vacation and be lazy!

He's going to rebuild the whole top of the wheel-well areas and the hood rail part so that I can actually bolt the fenders back on the top section, they are completely rusted out.
He's charging me a couple hundred, but he does good work, and I can be free for the rest of my vacay and know that its done right!!
