I have a subaru loyale short-block. All I know is it came from U-pull-it , from an engine that had snapped timing belts (these engines do not hit the valves when the belts snap). It's been sitting a while ever since in dry storage ... basically since these engines last a long time. I had a garbage bag or 2 over it during storage until today.

I do believe you are correct sir !
The 4x4 Subaru Loyale wagons/sedans they were relatively indestructible rigs (although they can leak or seeped.. if they stopped you're out of oil lol)
I think it was neater than shit that if either of the timing belts snapped on the 1.8's = non-interference engine = moar timing belt and go yo !

The EJ22 (2.2) in the Subaru legacy's was one of my favorite engines.
Thing was snappy/quicker for what it was on the gear as well.
Bought a legacy wagon ..put 70k on it , and sold it. ( Does that make me a lesbian ? :ugeek: )
Transmissions for those bastards were expensive , and somewhat heavy assholes to install or take out by yo-self probably heavier than the engine(well with the front diff in there to..)
