L20b with L16 Head Swap?

I have a friend who is giving me his L16 head. his motor is shot so varying on if the head is reusable, i'd like to swap the head on to my L20B block after rebuilding the head. Is this hard to swap? I know most L series motor parts are interchangeable but is this possible? If so, what are the pros/cons. If rebuildable, any tips i should use to build a performance head?

-Thanks

I have not done this, but I've read it works.

You end up with higher compression (not always a good thing), it's something like 9.3 ... but the L16 head has smaller valves and the cam is going to make it feel weak, unless you use the L20B cam. Then there is the issue with round intake ports versus square intake ports. Not the best combo, but it should work "so so".

Depend on which L-16 head, some of the earlier ones are a "closed chamber"(usually the 210 front casting number, below the inspection plate on the front of the head)
A regular 210 head,is open chamber

The 210 head, open or closed, also has the smallest valves out of all the L heads.
You may have yourself a W53 though. Maybe even an A87.

On the plug side, by #1 will be a little section with raised letters. 3 alphanumeric digits.
What's there?

If its 210 head, yeah it will work but, small valves/ports. Not really good for performance. Will not breathe as good.
