Figured i would make a thread for my other project... Its a Toyota pickup. A company called Griffith in California bought 200 from Toyota. Molded a canopy to the bed, did a walk through, and added interior and rear seats to it. They called it the Trailblazer (pre chevy trailblazer) Its pretty much a 4runner. but before Toyota ever made the 4runner. there was another version of this done by Winnebago which is called the Toyota trekker. there was like a few thousand of those made. rumor is there is only 40+ of the trailblazers still registered in the US.

I dont feel like typing everything up again sim im just gonna coppy my first few posts from the toyota site im on. so if the text doesnt make the most sense.... dont stress it... just enjoy the pictures.

Hope nobody minds but I deleted my last thread cause I felt it was cluttered with me rambling about nothing. This will be where I document as I go along.

Anyways I just got my 1983 trailblazer home. I rode the bus 2.5 hours to pick up spent the day working out a few quirks then drive the thing back home. I'm the 3rd owner of this vehicle. My close friend owned it and he got it from his father who got it new. It's pretty rough but everything is there so I'm more then happy. :) I have been trying to buy it from him for years and he finally sold it to me.

Plans are to get it back into tip top shape. Build some front and rear "trail gear" style bumpers and some rock sliders to protect her. Lift it a few inches and up the tire size to prolly 33's. Maybe 35's idk yet. Going to replace all the stuff cosmetically it needs so it looks nice and just enjoy it. I want to find out a way to make the top removable. That might be my biggest task but I have seen it done. Just don't know how it's done.

Anyways here is some pics. I will dive in this week starting with adjusting the valves as it has a really bad tick, flushing all the fluids, a tune up, adjust the carb (weber 32/36) and it needs new brakes all around as I'm pretty sure it's metal on metal lol. I will get some more pics once I get it washed and the spare wheels and tires out of the back.

Well got the truck in the air today at work. Rear brakes are in good shape. It's surprisingly dry underneath. No real leaks or anything. Which I was pleasantly surprised with. :) the front brakes are beyond gone and both front calipers are seized :/ so I have some comin along with rotors and pads.

Also noticed this. Should have caught it. Oh well I will get it fixed.

yeah it has a bad rocker rail. so one of the rockers is suuuuper loud. I have a lead on a new rocker assembly just waiting for my buddy to send it to me. Needs the carb rebuilt to im pretty sure. It sucks gas like a cheap whore.
