Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

Good to hear the wife didn’t get seriously hurt. Dealing with insurance is rarely pleasant.

Re: 1962 Datsun U320

I am surprised a professional paint shop would recommend a primer/surfacer as a base coat to bare metal. That is what is supposed to go on top of a etch, DTM primer or epoxy and act as a means to fill any small imperfections before paint such as sand scratches. I am at the point where I just start w...

Re: 1962 Datsun U320

If your going to prime bare metal, you should use either etching primer (good), 2 part direct to metal poly primer (better) or epoxy (best), at least that is my opinion. You can buy etch primer in a rattle can but the others need a gun with a big tip as they are *thick*.

Re: Laecaons New Place!

Check the wire gauge. If it’s 12ga you can safely put a 20a breaker in. 14ga maxes at 15a.

I've gotten an ass-load of random texts and emails on this thing just to tell me they love the car and would buy it if they had any money :P . Only one lowball offer so far.
Sounds about right. Sucks going through the trash to get to the serious folks.

Re: Around Waynos house

This is my opinion. For a bathroom satin should be fine for the walls but I would do semi gloss on the ceiling. Kitchen should be semi gloss. I generally would use semi gloss any place there is a possibility you would have to occasionally wipe the surface.

Re: Around Waynos house

That does look like a nice job. One comment I will make is in general the toilet flange is supposed to sit on top of the finished floor. May want to check the measurement from the bottom of the commode to the area where the wax ring sits and compare that with the thickness of whatever type of ring y...

Tell them you have a Zinsco, maybe they’ll sympathetic if they don’t have a program or rebate or whatnot. Never hurts to ask. My house was/is fucked up. I can tell the PO upgraded to a 200 amp service maybe 15 years ago, and there was also 2 sub panels (the Zinsco and what I believe is the original ...

Re: Blue’s pad

My understanding is some Zinsco stuff is of dubious quality and widely known for electrical fires. The inspector of my home said I should be suspicious and have an electrician look at it. Did a little online research and said fuck that and replaced it with an Eaton BR panel with plug on neutrals sin...

Re: Blues current daily

Something similar happened to me like 20 years ago. Long story short I came home from work and there were 3 cop cars in my court. Not really thinking anything about it I pulled into my driveway and was quickly being yelled at by a couple cops with guns drawn! Turns out a car I sold a week ago was us...

Re: Around Waynos house

Don’t get me started on Kaiser. The primary care there was always questionable to me. The final straw was a couple years back I was not doing good. Went to see my primary and was told I had acid reflux. A few more visits with worsening condition and I finally just went to the emergency room. Long st...

I’m obviously not a doctor but 96/64 seems pretty low. Isn’t 120/80 considered normal? I had an issue last year with a new med the doc put me on. I was at work and I started getting blurry vision, lightheaded and a little disoriented. It started once it got hot outside and I was doing strenuous stuf...

Re: Laecaons New Place!

Yeah, oils will eventually soften the PVC, making it swell and possibly bursting. UV (not really a problem inside) does make it brittle. The biggest problem is that it is what is called “notch sensitive”. If it gets a deep enough scratch it will create a stress point and then failure. Also, certain ...
