Re: The "Retired" 510

Its a 21 gallon harbor freight special. I have an offer/buyer, he just wants it put back together, and he's ready when I am. But you guys Make me want to paint it. I just feel like the interior of the car will be treated much better, and the interior is pretty dang nice. Just feel like the car will ...

Re: The "Retired" 510

You guy's are probably right, problem is I've lost the motivation after I realized I'm losing the car, and the house, and blah blah blah. Hell, whoever takes it can have my compressor, paint and supplies too. They can learn to paint just like I was. I'll try and save all my pneumatic tools though. J...

Re: The "Retired" 510

Hey guys. What is this car worth in it's current state? I could spray another coat of epoxy and reinstall every thing so it's legal. Nothing has changed since the last update.

Re: The "Retired" 510

Thought I'd throw an update out there. Partner left me while I'm 500 miles away. Maybe an over-share, but it's fine. Anyway, I've been seriously considering selling off all my things, anchors with different shapes and sizes. That would include the 510. It's sad because I've never poured so much love...

Re: The "Retired" 510

I've got a confession. I've been home for two weeks and all I've done to the 510 is take the cheese grater to the driver side quarter and taillight panel. I really like having a layer of paint over the filler, helps a ton in finding the lows and highs. Protip- don't wait as long as I did to shape yo...

That went smoother than expected.

One or two runs and, you can see in the roof where I want overlapping enough.

Re: The "Retired" 510

Is it sacrilegious to replace panels that have no rust? Because I want a new quarter and taillight panel. Just seems like a ton of wasted work that may or may not fail later on. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what I now know about working with filler. But Jesus, I have a solid drivetrain, great br...

Re: The "Retired" 510

It's not too bad. I have a couple of those moisture absorbers for RV's. I keep getting flash rush in the same spot, the license plate spot. I sand it off and it comes back a few days later. Makes me scared to paint it. Lol https://s14.postimg.cc/z2ceso5sh/20180410_123215.jpg https://s14.postimg.cc/3...

Re: The "Retired" 510

I'm hoping to spray Wednesday or Thursday. Then I've gotta fill the garage back up with all the body panels and clean up. I finished masking for the last time earlier. Tomorrow I'm gonna blow all the dirt out with air. Then after the dust settles overnight I'll do a final clean, then finally spray. ...

Re: The "Retired" 510

I know, I know... :?

It's just hard for me to decide if it's ready. Haha

I'll be gone a month and a half or so, that should be a good test to see how well my epoxy primer adheres.

Re: The "Retired" 510

I called the company that makes the 60cm one, and the ruler is older than anyone that works there so none of them know. I think you might be right on the right track about the swingarm possibility. But what throws me off about that is the level so slight adjustment in the brackets, maybe 5° adjustme...

Re: The "Retired" 510

Harbor freight for both. $20 for the gun after the 20% off coupon, $23 for the 25lb of walnut. https://s14.postimg.cc/nyt7iw9ip/20180404_154644.jpg As you can see, it's everywhere. I'm about 80% through this 25lb. The gun seems to work as it should, not that I have any experience to go on. And the m...

Re: The "Retired" 510

So I got a siphon feed blasting gun and a big box of walnut shells. It makes getting paint out of tight areas an easy task. I tried to get the gun with the lowest CFM rating, the box said 3.2CFM average, which sounded way too low but I ignored it and turns out the gun uses 13CFM, lol. I'll bet the o...

Re: The "Retired" 510

Ahhh, okay. I guess it's the wheel arches that throws me off, the brazing isn't so pretty... I avoided the rear glass as long as I could. So I popped it out. I'm getting so much better at doing this. Thick vacuum line seems to do the trick, or rope... https://s14.postimg.cc/izqjcy25t/20180402_205512...
