Re: Jacob's goon build

I'm not sure. I was under the car looking at the oild pan situation and I glanced over at the part I had cutoff. It looked like it may fit. It was never going to fit before this cross member I made. That is why I cut it. I do still have problems. I would need to clearance it for the sway bar. And th...

Re: Jacob's goon build

I finished dressing up the transmission. Still need to figure out a delete plug. Sensors are in. Speedometer drive is in. Ran some silicone hose for the vent. Brand new OEM clutch fork boot. I also pressed on a new throw out bearing. And got the collar/fork installed. Then I worked on the heater cor...

Re: Really Ratty Rusty Ruby 510/miata

I only mentioned the rocker panels/ side skirts for a visual reason. To make the car look lower. Kinda like a kit on a S13.

Your welds are definitely looking much better.

I had the gas sitting in my Datsun for 3 years. Drained it, put it in the BMW.

Re: Jacob's goon build

Gasoline engines just dont have the same issues. "All other factors being equal, exhaust gas temperatures will peak at a stoichiometric 14.7/1 air to fuel ratio (for gasoline) and fall off on either side of that, whether rich or lean." -http://blog.innovatemotorsports.com/afr-vs-egt-gauges-when-to-t...

Re: Jacob's goon build

Everyone does at turbo, at least on gasoline engines. In fact my stock turbo has a port brazed on from factory. This is a SR20 turbo, so a slightly bigger compressor wheel. The idea is mostly it sees the most boost first, so it has the earliest chance to bleed boost off. The Tee you have is called a...

Re: Jacob's goon build

Totally forgot to post the pic of the it back together... Still need to sort the sensors for it... Painted it... Aluminum... but its super bright. Meh, its going under a car, and its easier to clean grease/oil off paint than raw aluminum. https://1dc3qg.bl.files.1drv.com/y4mVCbhGdJu_AMMegihxGRyctj5t...

Re: Jacob's other Wagon

Just did the 1500 mile oil change. I see no sparkly bits in the oil. There were some in the oil filter housing, but that is pre engine anyways, what the filter should be filtering. I have it back on full synthetic (Castrol 5w40). Of a slight concern is a noise. Its a knock ish type noise. Sometimes....

Re: Just another car I'll never finish.

That is what happens to Z cars all the time, but its worse for them as it is behind the strut tower.

Yay another to fix, but at least you can. I think its saying "dont sell me"

Yay log manifolds!

I would definitely make a heat shield considering how close the turbo is to the intake manifold.

Re: Around Waynos house

All of those models that we didn't see and are hardly in the manuals are pretty neat. Not much is known about them.
