Re: Jacob's goon build

I do. And I'm not sure why. But it makes things do things, so that is cool.

House sale... IDK. I'm not concerned. I think the price is coming down. My sister/realtor is getting married Friday...

Re: Jacob's goon build

Managed to strip the rest of what I can remove without soldering... I dont have AC, so that was a lot of wire I got to remove. There were a few random test terminals... so I deleted those as well. My goal is to get the wire count going through the firewall to the engine under 47. Right now I am at 4...

Re: Jacob's goon build

Started going through the CA wire harness. Thinking I may make a Wiring Specialties Connector order. Half the connectors on this harness are broken. Goal is to figure out how many wires I am actually passing through the firewall so I can order a round bulk head connector for the firewall. I will tak...

Re: Jacob's goon build

Definitely a possibility. Something I haven't thought of. It would be a pretty large bolt, considering the block is clearanced for a m10 bolt, and an alignment sleeve.

Im trying to not work on anything mechanical on the car right now.

Re: Jacob's other Wagon

Um, well the car runs around just fine. Oil consumption is probably nill. It leaks some though. STUPID PLASTIC VALVE COVERS WITH NOT ENOUGH BOLTS!!! Did my first 7500 mile oil change a month ago and it was super clean looking. Weird sound that maybe kinda sorta sounds like rod knock seems to be happ...

Re: Waynos 1966 datsun 520 ute

The core of it should be basically some sort of Cardboard. Probably some hex pattern. These things are made to bottom dollar. They are nice where you see it, and rough else where. If your goal is to have a 100% dry bed, know this. That is near impossible. The seal (bulb seal is what we called it) wi...

Re: Waynos 1966 datsun 520 ute

Having experience with those tops, I would say recreating the hing to be strong is never going to work. But cutting the back off means a more finishing work, and if you do that... might as well narrow it too... Of the one photo you took of the front hinges, that is a top where the metal tabs slide i...

Re: Wynona the wagon's resurrection!

I would grab a bottle of techron. Or anything with Namptha in it. That will clean the injectors. One of the many reasons I only run Chevron in my cars.

Re: Wynona the wagon's resurrection!

You mean like this? Quick question. Are my images too large? I can see them appear pretty quickly on my phone and computer, but others maybe not... Here are even bigger pictures (taken with my DSLR instead of phone). Another thing checked off the list. All intake tubes have been flanged. Started wit...

Re: Wynona the wagon's resurrection!

Yea, Nissan motors really like the MAF to be wired correctly. NOFLERS (james) here had the same issue with his although it would start.

Glad you got it sorted.

You can hear the turbo immediately!

Re: Jacob's goon build

Im kinda against moving the rack at this point. I cant roll it due to the rack profile, and the mount would be a bear to unweld, I mostly full welded it. I will see if I do need to modify anything... And since I had the exhaust off, I took the turbo and elbow to work. Fixed the flange, 1 hole was of...

Re: Jacob's goon build

Well messed around with the steering some. Made a bracket to hold the stabilizing bearing. Just tacked together, heavily. So I can test the steering. A LOT less bind. I noticed the whole mount for the rack shifts side to side when I turn the wheel... I do have 2 of the bolts out. Need to attach thos...

I would agree with, it doesnt matter. Definitely a nice job making the side pieces. I would suggest some paint, that raw steel will rust real fast, especially in that spot which will get wet.

Re: Around Waynos house

I got jury duty last year. Went through about 45 minutes of questioning. Then they started dismissing everyone. Everyone had quickly figured out what the case was about. I quickly established myself as someone who knew the law, and how to interpret it (which is scary to which ever side is trying to ...

Re: Jacob's goon build

That is what I am thinking. First step is to make sure I am using a JIS bolt to use the smallest head size. Then sand down the block. I think I have a 50grit belt for my finger sander...
