Re: 1963 Datsun 320 kingcab

My brother used to always spray the floor down with the garden hose before painting to keep dust down.
You've really been busy!

Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

Too many irons. Was planning on having it as a winter project and hauling it down to the swap meet in April. Decided to just make a couple hundred quick now rather than gamble on maybe a thousand later after a bunch more work.

Re: 1963 Datsun 320 kingcab

I like the blue on the front. It looks really similar to the color on my El Camino which has a slight metallic in it. Believe it or not, it kind of hides dings and waves. But mine has a flat clear over it so maybe that helps too.

And yes to the SUs.

Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

So, let me explain exactly what this thing is along with some company history. Over the years the Indian brand has gone under and changed hands several times. Currently they are owned by Polaris and doing well. Their biggest comeback was in 1999 when a group of investors started building them in Gil...

Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

It came with bags that zip on to the piece under the passenger seat. I had them off to wash it. They aren't right for it and I don't love the style, plus they beat the shit out of the paint. I'll be replacing them at some point. I rode it about 60 miles to the DMV this afternoon. It's a runner, for ...

Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

Wow! That was a long drive. Towing that big sail anchor at 60 takes waaaay longer than setting the cruise at 70-75 and just truckin'. Also managed to drop down to 13 mpg on the trip down (headwind) and 16 mpg on the way back. Lots of fuel stops. Icing on the cake was screwing up the bottom of the fr...

Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

Thanks, man. Hope it looks as good in person. I'm headed down there in a few hours. My hope was that I could get someone to ride down with me and drive back while I rode it home. Couldn't get anyone to make the trip with me so I'll be driving down and trailering it home.
Details to follow.

Re: Bratmobile aka slick willy

Pretty straight forward. Only tool needed is a pick or flat screwdriver to get the E-clip off and back on. You'll love the way it shifts with new bushings.

They may be a bit large but load okay on my phone. Wayno's computer is probably in a coma though.

Progress looks good.
