Re: Mobi-Datsun, the great white tow pig.
A.I.R. isn't monitored and only works on warm-up. You could completely bypass or remove the entire system amd never miss it. EGR isn't really monitored either. FYI, if you run in to an off-idle stumble in the future, it's likely a weak EGR spring. Super common on those. Otherwise, those old TBI engi...

Re: Mobi-Datsun, the great white tow pig.
'87 was a weird transition year. Could have been V-belt or serpentine. If it's serpentine I'd look at the tensioner to make sure it isn't cocked at an angle with the belt in place. The TBI era castings aren't great but they're tougher than the late 70s and early 80s. If you only drove it a mile or t...

Re: Gray Man, Inc.
I never really put all my bikes to bed for the winter so since it was nice today I pressure washed the TWs, lubed them, and ran them out of gas. Then tucked them in the corner of the shop. https://i.postimg.cc/9ffYh9LB/20210105-155516.jpg Backed the Chief out, fired it up and warmed it up. Then ran ...

I placed a parts order last night that should keep me busy for a little while. Won't be here for another week though.

Re: Gray Man, Inc.
Fought a broken manifold bolt on my dad's GMC. We both got pretty shamed by the whole ordeal but finally got it out and chased. Managed to save the threads though. I've never been good at these repairs. Found 3 cracks in the manifold once it was off so a new one is on order. https://i.postimg.cc/Gh9...

Re: Gray Man, Inc.
Shuttled more stuff over from my dad's shop. Also mounted up a less old spare for the Smell Camino to function test the equipment. https://i.postimg.cc/SsjXzQTd/20210103-140428.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/PxcCbG0j/20210103-140508.jpg Can't remember if I mentioned it or not, my nephew bought a pretty un...

Re: Gray Man, Inc.
Undoubtedly sucks ass. So far the only action has been on the $50 automatic in the first pic, which I'd gladly give away if someone would save me a trip to the scrap yard. I honestly don't expect much activity right after Christmas when everyone is broke and hungover. The overdrive packages will lik...

Re: Fuck The Reaper
https://i.postimg.cc/3RgCS0YW/20201224-154558.jpg I pulled all the parts and boxes out of it and got it ready to blow apart. Then I adjusted the coilovers so that the tie rods and lower control arms were level. Ended up raising it about 3.5". Before I started the jack wouldn't fit under the swaybar...

Re: Gray Man, Inc.
Haven't updated in a while so here you go. Compressor is in and plumbed. https://i.postimg.cc/WzNL4nrq/20201206-160959.jpg I ran air hoses above the trusses to a reel on the hoist and another drop by the door. Put a couple shelves in the corner to get motorcycle stuff all in one place. Then shuffled...
